About Kyro
❤️ Kyro, The Perfect Family Girl ❤️
HOUSEHOLD - Kyro asks only for her people to give her plenty of pats, tummy rubs and treats. She is a very gentle dog most of the time and isn’t overly boisterous. The perfect home for Kyro would be with a family who have kids and a large yard where she can spend her days running around with the kids playing.
If you are familiar with the staffy breed they can often do this cute little grunting noise. Kyro makes that noise often when she is getting attention from people and we think it’s just the best noise ever because it shows us just how happy she is being around people.
ON-GOING TRAINING - Kyro knows how to sit and will come to her name. She sometimes taps you with her paw when she wants your attention. Kyro does have a cheeky side and can jump up onto people in her excitement when you interact with her. She will also try and lick your face just to show you how much she loves you!
She also loves jumping into the office chair when she spends times hanging out with staff members. If you don’t like having pet hair on you or your furniture then Kyro isn’t the dog for you, because we guarantee she is going to make herself comfortable on you and your couch.
ON LEAD - Kyro enjoys walks and while she can pull initially leaving the pound in her excitement, she does settle quickly.
These are some of the comments our wonderful dog walkers have had to say about Kyro when they have taken her out for a walk.
“Very loving and affectionate”
“Not so much of an explorer, likes to stay close to her humans”
“Friendly girl, likes a cuddle”
“Very affectionate, obedient and a pleasure to walk”
PLAY/TOYS - Kyro has shown a love for plush toys and balls. She isn’t protective over her toys and is happy for you touch them when she is playing.
OTHER DOGS - Kyro arrived with another dog and had spent some time living with her, however during Kyro’s time with us she has shown she can be a bit picky when it comes to what dogs she likes and what ones she doesn’t.
The pound environment could be playing into this and there is a chance that one day Kyro could live with another perfectly matched canine friend, however for now we do recommend Kyro be the queen of her castle and be the only dog in the household.
CATS/OTHER ANIMALS - When Kyro walked into our cattery she was initially focused and curious. Once she moved further into the room she became uneasy and scared. When she was standing in front of the cage she had her head down looking and was quite stiff. When a cat hissed at her she tried to hide behind her handler and wanted to leave the room. Based on Kyro’s mixed reactions to seeing a cat it would appear to us that she hasn’t seen a cat before.
CARE/GROOMING - Kyro has a typical staffy coat that doesn’t require too much grooming.
At the moment her coat is thinning and quite dull. This is due to the kennel environment and once she is adopted and her stress levels are lowered, her coat will improve quickly.
Kyro is quite the curvaceous lady and would benefit from losing a few kilos. She will eat anything she is offered or anything she sniffs out on the ground that other dogs didn’t eat.
Her food intake will need to be monitored because we can picture her sitting underneath the dinner table patiently waiting for the kids to drop any food on the floor that she can quickly vaccum up.
NUTRITION/EXERCISE - Kyro will need a regular walk or a run around with her new family to help her slim down. She doesn’t have any specific dietary requirements.
Kyro is a 3 year old, Staffy x and currently at our Erina Shelter. Her $500 adoption fee covers - microchipping, desexing, lifetime registration, current vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
If you think Kyro is the perfect family dog for you, then please lodge your adoption interest online and we will be in touch.
