About Roxy
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR PETS IN WA OR INTERSTATE
**Before applying, please remember that adopting a puppy into your home is a huge commitment, and very demanding of your time. Puppies require daily exercise, positive and varied socialisation, grooming, training and playtime. When applying, please consider your work hours, holidays, and how busy your personal life is. Puppies will need someone who is home for most of the day with regular focused input, especially in those first six months after adoption **
NAME: Roxy
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance with her mum and 5 siblings
BREED: Kelpie x Heeler Mix
Breed Traits:
Kelpies are high energy and highly intelligent being a working breed, so may need to be found a 'job' to make them feel fulfilled. They get bored easily if their brains are not worked, so training is a must. They are very social with adults and children and other dogs. They are very loyal but if the instinct is strong they may try to herd your children.
Australian Cattle Dog (Heelers) are affectionate, devoted and protective of family but can be wary of strangers. Usually attach to one person and love to be close. Very, very high energy and highly intelligent - they love to have a job and if not mentally and physically worked enough they will be destructive. Bred to herd by nipping so is mouthy and will nip cattle, children, pets, cars, anything that moves if training is not implemented at a young age. They have a strong prey drive with other small animals unless reared with them. Not for novice owners

ASSETS: Affectionate, friendly, active, smart, sweet and playful! Roxy is a delight to have around, and she will always make you smile.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Roxy loves to chew her toys and enjoys wrestle time with her siblings. Since being in care she has made some doggy friends and is now living with a resident dog and they love to play together. She loves her cuddles especially at night when everyone settles down to watch telly.
ENDEARING FEATURES: Roxy and her siblings all have a beautiful, gentle nature.
OTHER ANIMALS: Roxy is great with other dogs and has been introduced to cats and horses and is fine with them all. She could live with another friendly dog, dependent on meet, and a dog-savvy cat.
GENERAL INFO: Roxy will bark to get attention and will need training for pretty much everything being so young. Housetraining is sorted although you may have the odd accident as she settles into her new home and routine! She's a smart cookie and will benefit greatly from puppy school and ongoing classes into adulthood where she can mix with other dogs, and this is a commitment we will expect from her new owner. We expect these pups to be medium sized or just under as mum is only 11kg but there are no guarantees.
