About Miss Sadie
Miss Sadie is a very sweet natured girl, she is always keen for affection and loves nothing more than to be by your side at all times.
She has a lot of love to give and will always be happy to see you. Sadie has the sweetest big brown eyes that will melt your heart.
Miss Sadie is a med size girl with a soft coat and is a Mix of Kelpie x Jack Russel x cattle dog
She makes a great companion for us to curl up on the couch with and watch a movie at the end of the day as she is so cuddly. And as well as for our dog ( 2yo male Kelpie) to wrestle and play and burn up some energy together. She is a big loving goofy softie who just wants someone to love her as much as she loves them.
Sadie has a great off switch and knows when itâs time to relax and unwind. She is happy just to be in the company of people, she doesnât have to be doing something. .

Interaction with humans -
Sadie is curious and eager to say hello to new people including the elderly and does quite well. She has previously resided with children aged over 12 She can be quiet at first but quickly opens up. Once comfortable she can get quite excited, and when over excited she does nip (non aggressive) and jump up for a pat . She has shown a slight tendency to be more comfortable with women than men. Miss Sadie will cower if told off, and is scared to get close if she knows she made a mistake. She responds alot better to positive training styles and reward based.
Obedience / Training
Sadie can sit, stay, come when called, knows âon your bedâ and shake and is learning âoffâ and âleave itâ.
She responds very well to training and learns quickly when given the time and effort.
Miss Sadie is ready and willing to learn.
Animal Social Skills -
Sadie loves to play with our dog and doesn't seem to tire, she has shown to interact well with other dogs.
She is submissive in nature but holds her own when rough play ensues.
She does not bark or lunge at other dogs on lead.
She has chased birds and possums in our backyard.
Not assessed with cats
She has shown slight protectiveness towards our dog n (growling and showing teeth) over food when she arrived however this seems to have improved. In saying this as with all dogs in dual homes we recommend separate feeding.
Sadie needs more experience walking on a lead, she gets very distracted and wants to explore and pulls when she sees wildlife such as rabbits and kangaroos.
She is relatively unbothered by other dogs on her walks.
When she came to us she had a real fear of doorways and being pushed outside so she would try and quickly push/squeeze past you and wouldnât listen not even for food, it seems sheâs been tricked by this too many times before. She has massively overcome this and shown HUGE growth here and learned to trust us to let her in she is even learning to sit before going through
Independence -
(our dog is not home during the day)
Miss Sadie doesn't like being left alone at all, she becomes anxious and tends to chew, dig or bark to entertain herself, she will also bark at disturbances/noises beyond the yard so we are seeking a home with another dog in residence as she is perfectly fine when she has a friend
We have given her kongs, scattered treats, chew toys, ropes, hoofs, all of which entertain her for a while; however she tends to seek out her own entertainment and curiously explores all areas of the yard looking for new entertainment.
Bathing and Hygiene -
Sadie was very easy to bath
Sleeping -
Sadie sleeps on her own comfy bed and blanket in the closed off hallway, she sleeps through the night and will only wake you up to go outside if she needs the bathroom on occasion if she's had a big drink.
Exercise -
Sadie would require a minimum half an hour walk a day coupled with play time throughout the day to help keep her fulfilled
Inside the home -
Sadie loves to make herself at home, is very comfortable inside the house and loves to be on the couch. She will climb on everything if you let her. She is toilet trained but may have accidents if she knows she has made a mistake and becomes fearful. She will get into anything and everything if left to her own devices for even a second and will counter surf for food to steal so certainly don't leave food out in the kitchen when she is inside lol
Ideal Home
Sadieâs perfect home would be experienced and patient dog owners with ample time and commitment to helping her be the best dog she can be, and overcome any fear or self entertainment
She would love a large yard and grass to run around on, and a playmate to offer company and keep her busy. If another dog in residence we week and higher energy male with great social skills and med to large in size
She needs to be a part of the family and welcome in the home.
She would best suit an active family where she can be a part of all the action and allowed on the couch.
She is more suited to an active family or couple and if children in residence they should be dog savvy and mature age
