About Rambo
******************APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ******************************
Sweet little Rambo is 13 months old and has found himself homeless and in the pound due to no fault of his own, the shelter is no place for a young dog to grow up, Rambo is a sensitive boy who needs out ASAP!
The name Rambo couldn’t be further from the truth for this boy, he is a lover, not a fighter! Rambo is sweet and sooky, he is a little shy at first and a bit nervous, Rambo will come straight up to you for a cuddle and lean into you, however he is unsure and will roll onto his back (appeasement behaviour). Rambo needs his new family to take things at his pace and give him the opportunity to relax and feel safe, he is incredibly affectionate once he trusts those around him and is the ultimate snuggle bug and attention seeker. Rambo is suited to a quieter home where everyone is over the age of 8.
Rambo is very chilled out for such a young dog; he isn’t overly jumpy or mouthy and is just happy to be in the presence of his people. Rambo likes treats and knows how to sit; however, he gets a bit worried when you ask him to do commands and will again display appeasing behaviours to show he isn’t a threat. Rambo needs a kind, gentle hand that will train him using positive reinforcement techniques, he needs to build his confidence and trust in his handler. Rambo needs to work on his leash manners, his foundation skills and focus, we know that busting out of the shelter will do wonders for this boy.
Rambo is still a playful pup and can be very goofy at times, his legs go in all directions as he runs and zooms around, he is still learning about how fun toys are but will give anything a go so long as humans are involved. Rambo will need to be provided with plenty of exercise and enrichment in his new home, he would love to use his mind to conquer treat puzzles and games, building up his confidence every time he has success!
Rambo is conflicted with other dogs, he has always lived with another dog and plays rough with her, however, can be confused about interacting with new dogs and will bark at them in frustration and confusion. With gentle introductions, Rambo has been able to go off-lead with other dogs in the shelter, he would benefit from living with a friendly, older, large-breed dog that can take him under their wing and show him the ropes, he would also be ok as the only dog in his new home. Rambo has not been tested with cats or other small pets.
This sweet sensitive boy is ready for someone to give him all of their love and affection, we can already tell that Rambo is a loyal boy who would love nothing more than to spend the day by his human’s side and cuddle up with them on the couch at night. Rambo is a snuggle bug in camouflage and is waiting to show you his true self!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
