About Hogan
Introducing the hulk that is Hogan! Hogan is a Staffy x Mastiff born 10th November 2021.
Hogan was brought into us as an unmicrochipped stray & unfortunately no one came looking for him. He is a very large and incredibly handsome young man who loves human interaction. He doesn't realise his size though, so he does try to stand up to give you a cuddle. As Hogan is over 40kg of muscle he will need an owner who has experience with big dogs & we are not recommending him for elderly owners.
Hogan tested quite well with other dogs, both male & female. The only time we heard anything from him, was he does growl if the other dog jumps all over him or is too over the top in his face. There was no further reaction and once the other dog calmed he was back to his happy, playful self.
If you have a calm, friendly dog at home we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before he goes home. We believe Hogan would also be quite happy being the spoilt "only child" as he is more human focused than animal focused.
Hogan does seem to have a fair bit of prey drive with pocket pets, so he will need a home with no chickens/rabbits etc.
Hogan seemed mostly unfazed by cats through a cage, so with a slow & controlled introduction he may have the potential to live with cats.
Hogan is quite stressed in the facility & has shown signs of anxiety in his kennel. While this may settle in a home environment, he may need further training to help ease this once he's home.
Hogan is such a loving man and wants nothing more than a home he can call his own and not have to worry about losing another family.
If you think you could be that furever family for Hogan, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Hogan’s adoption fee is $100, and this includes his desexing, vaccinations and lifetime registration. Hogan is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Hogan is located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
