Chanel is a sweet, lovable and affectionate, quiet little girl who loves nothing more than to be with her human.

A little anxious in certain situations, Chanel will be happy to spend her days by her owners side, with just a short, quiet walk each day to check the weemails .Chanel gets along with other dogs, once she has been gently and gradually introduced to them, however she will further benefit from further doggie socialisation and will require a confident leader who can show her the way. She is a dream on leash, walking quietly by your side. At night, Chanel is happy to sleep outside on a trampoline bed, rugged up and in a soft bed to snuggle into. When sleeping inside, she has been confined to a small area of the loungeroom and is quiet all night in either location.

In a town situation, she has been quiet and unfazed by any exposure to cars, trucks, trains, people, bridges, stairs and children. She hasn’t had a lot of exposure to kids, but seems fascinated by them. Getting into the car, she will place her front legs and her back end needs to be picked up and helped in. More work will ensure her loading herself.

Chanel adores people and is friendly to everyone, demanding pats, hugs and kisses without being overbearing. Chanel loves toys and will chew any pieces of toy that protrudes, especially loving the squeaky or crunchy toys. She is very playful, throwing toys in the air and is a pretty good catch!! She loves to have a zoom with the other dogs, all being muzzled for ‘excitement protection’.

She has been Obedience trained to a certain extent; you can use a clicker for recall where she is rewarded with a treat. She has the most adorable look on her face as she returns to you! She understands ‘Stay’, which we enforce at the gate going out, ’On your bed’, ‘Stand’ to remove the leash tangled around her legs and ‘Go’ to move forward. She stands quietly to have the leash clipped on.

We feel the type of home best suited to Chanel will be a quiet, relaxed country home, another dog would be an advantage, especially a larger breed or another Greyhound. Her potential owner should acknowledge that Chanel can be anxious and they need to be sympathetic to her fears.

This little dog deserves the quiet life she enjoys and she will reward her humans tenfold with her devotion and love. It’s the least we can do for this lovely girl.
