About Ash
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Children over the age of 10
Introducing Ash! Not only is this boy a looker, he is full of personality and smooches!
Ash is a super friendly dog - he isn't afraid to approach people (or for people to approach him) for pats and will often wonder why people on the other side of the road won’t come and pat him. He is eager to meet new dogs as well, having had some positive interactions with a few of the local doggos around. He is still working on how to behave a little less intensely with the smaller doggos though so will benefit from further doggie socialisation.
On walks, Ash just wants to sniff and see everything. He can get a bit zig-zaggy and will pull if there is something ahead he wants to check out. He will need someone who is strong and confident walking him. Ash would love at least 2 walks a day.
After a good walk, Ash does well alone, along with some tasty, stimulating enrichment toys. Due to his bubbly energy, we think he would suit an active family with kids over the age of 10. He would suit being a solo boy or would be a great mate for another doggo (medium to large breed). Ash does well in the car, and isn't phased by any street noises. He is also fine with loud house noises such as the vacuum or blender.
When it’s playtime, Ash looooves his toys. Squeaky, round, ropey, fluffy, bouncy - he’ll have them all. Ash is quite vocal for a greyhound and will often bark when he’s playing or to get your attention. He will let you know when he wants to go outside, or come back in. He will also let you know when he is hungry. He is very food motivated.
Ash is incredibly affectionate, he loves a head rub or a neck scratch. He is pretty confident in what he wants and will attempt to get on the couch to snuggle with you. He has not shown any signs of sleep startle or aggression during his time in foster care. He sleeps in his foster people’s bedroom in his own bed and stays there alllll night without a peep. He is getting the hang of the nighttime routine - out for a wee then tucked into bed.
Please apply if Ash sounds like the perfect greyhound for you! He can’t wait to meet you and settle into his fur-ever home!
