About Bella - 1.5 Year Old Wolfhound X Labrador (Trial)
Meet the beautifully unique Bella. Bella is a Wolfhound cross Labrador and true to her breeds, is a fantastic family dog. She is sweet-tempered, friendly, calm, gentle and unconditionally loyal.
Bella is extremely affectionate and adores her humans. She currently lives with two young children and is extremely gentle with them and does not jump up.
Unfortunately Bella has been moved around in her short life, so she finds it difficult when her people leave her at home alone. Because of this, we are recommending a family where someone either works from home full time or where someone in the family is around more often than not. Bella is not a leave me in the backyard kind of girl. She needs to be inside and around her family.
Bella is still quite timid of new people and environments. She does however quickly warm to you and will look to you for guidance and reassurance when trying new things. Once she knows she is safe, she will give anything a go.
Bella is super smart. She is toilet trained, rarely jumps up, knows sit, down, stay, in your bed, takes treats gently and will sit for food. With further consistent training, she will develop excellent recall.
She is also crate trained and sleeps through the night.
Bella is a breeze to walk. She happily walks next to you on a loose lead stopping every now and then for a sniff.
Like other large dog breeds, Bella only has a moderate energy level. She is very happy to just stay home and sleep on the couch or in her bed at your feet. She is very content to have a daily walk around the block, wonder around the yard, have the odd zoomie or sit with you while you have a coffee at the cafe.
Bella has had good socialisation with dogs of all ages and sizes. She now lives with three small male dogs over 10 years of age and is very gentle and respectful.
Bella would be best suited to living with a quiet, calm and social doggie companion of similar size. She would however prefer to be an only dog as she is extremely loyal and loves to be around her family and enjoy plenty of affection.
Bella is not as large as a pure breed wolfhound because of her cross. She is a medium to large dog similar in size to a skinny golden retriever, with loads of love to give. She will need someone in her life who is prepared to have a medium to large dog and all that goes with it.
Bella's overview
- Needs a family committed to ongoing training, socialisation, exercise, play and lots of walks.
- Needs a family where a member works from home full time or is around so she is not left alone by herself.
- Loves humans so needs to be welcomed into the family home and share adventures.
- Needs to be an inside/outside dog with a bed inside at night.
- Fully fenced large yard with high fences.
Bella has not been tested with cats or pocket pets so a home without these would be best.
Bella is in foster care in New Lambton Heights NSW and is available for adoption interstate. Bella’s adoption fee is $500 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.
