About Chelsea
.We would love to introduce you to the beautiful sweet girl Chelsea who is now seeking her forever family home.
This darling pup is an Australian Cattle Dog x Bull Arab with a huge heart of solid love to give and a potential of endless affection to her new family. As true to nature the Bull Arab temperament in her has shone through making her a gentle and definitely a perfect addition to a family especially with children and another Doggo
Chelsea was a shy little girl when she arrived but has now blossomed into a happy confident girl with people of all sizes and adores her foster doggo sister Obi who has helped her confidence grow and grow.
Chelsea now enjoys a pat and her foster family laying on the floor with her for little cuddles and will show her appreciation through lots of kisses. Chelsea is happy outside with her doggy foster sister during the day whilst her foster family are at work but likes to come inside when her foster family are home. She has amazing markings on her coat and the cutest love heart on her side.
We feel she will grow into a good size med to larger med girl at full growth based on her breed and her baby giraffe legs and she would thrive in a home with another dog to keep building on her confidence
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM AND JUNK FOLDERS FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO COMPLETE ONCE YOU HAVE SENT YOUR INITIAL ENQUIRY
Favorite things â
Chelsea is starting to learn to play with toys especially the soft ones that the fluff comes out of lol but this is great to see she can self entertain now . She does love any form of heat whether it is laying in the sun, laying In Front of the heater or around the fire pit, she will just want to lay and soak in the heat. She is a huge fan of a pig's ear and will happily munch and chew away lazing in the sun. She adores her people and a definite fav is a good pat and ear scratch.
Interaction with humans â
Chelsea has come leaps and bound with people in just a short time!!! Chelsea is great with visitors and will go have a sniff to say hello but does not jump on her guests with a quick reminder. When meeting new people, she can take a little to warm up to them but once she gets to know them, she will want a pat and yep more pats lol Chelsea is not a cuddly dog and prefers to la by your side but this may change as she gain more confidence around her people
Obedience / Training-
Chelsea will benefit from puppy school and further training, but she has learnt come in or outside, she is leaning on your bed and she is currently learning sit, Chelsea is treat motivated so training will be a breeze . She does listen to her foster family and is trying to copy her doggy foster sister.
Animal Social Skills -
Chelsea LOVES over dogs and will go to other dogs for a play anytime, it does appear that she likes dogs over humans lol but who can blame her don't we all ??? . She is gently with her doggy foster sister but can push boundaries with her by constantly kissing her foster sister and is starting to wanting to jump around and play wrestle which her foster sister is not at that stage in her life lol so we would be seeking a home with another dog who is gentle with her but can manage a good play wrestle and a young teen who is very affectionate with him too She shows no sign of food aggression with her foster sister but has no personal space with other dogs, she will just lay on top of her foster sister but thatâs only because she wants to be as close as she can with her. We definitely think Chelsea is suited to a home with another dog
Food-
Chelsea is currently eating premium puppy dry food twice a day (morning and night) and in the morning she is having some puppy prime rolls mixed in with her dry food just to help her put on a little bit of weight which she loves. She is currently being fed inside as she is not a really fast eater so this is just allowing her more time to eat before her greedy foster sister takes her food, it was not for this she would be fine to eat outside on her own.
Independence -
Chelsea is happy outside during that day with her foster sister but if left alone she will still cry for a while but will calm down with some time and reassurance that it is ok. She is happy to be left alone from humans but does prefer having another dog to keep her company.
Bathing and Hygiene â
Chelsea will not run to you to have a bath but will tolerate it when she is in the bath. She might look at you with those what are you doing to me eyes, but she does appreciate the feeling after for bath. She will lay in front of the heater after her bath to dry off.
Sleeping -
Chelsea is sleeping in her crate outside with blankets and the door open with her foster sister. She will go to bed anytime between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm and will sleep until around 6am to 7am. She will have a few little nanna naps during the day.
Exercise -
Chelsea is slowly building her confidence with her lead, when she first goes on the lead she needs encouragement to go out the front door but when she gets to the nature strip she enjoys a short walk, she has been able to copy her foster sister on how to walk on a lead which has helped her to learn the lead and how it works. She has also been practicing by having the lead on her in the house to show her that the lead is not scary.
Inside the home â
Chelsea is very well mannered in the home and does not jump on the furniture or on the beds, she is just happy to sit in the lounge room and watch TV with her foster family or sit in the kitchen whilst cooking is happening hoping that she may score a dropped bit of food but does not get under your feet. She just likes to follow her foster family to whichever room they are in to see what is happening.
Ideal Home-
Chelsea would benefit from a home with a mature and patient doggie sibling where she can bond and learn from and she is madly in love with other dogs or a home that can socialize her regularly with other dogs. She would also benefit from a calm house as she is still building her confidence so can get nervous with a lot of loud noises. She is great with kids, she has been around a number of kids ranging from the ages of 7 years old to 19 years old where she's very gently, not jumpy and a wonderful companion
ADOPTION CRITERIA
A home with a medium to large backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who are kind and gentle
A home with another dog is a deal breaker as must have We seek a Male of medium to large size who is well socialized
A daily walk is really important to keep her fit and healthy and stimulated
A lot of love and training! Chelsea should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on her own in the backyard all the time. Her new owner should dedicate time to training
Chelsea has definitely built her confidence in having another dog with her so , it would be in Chelsea's best interest to find a home with a male dog who is well socialized.
