You know when you meet a dog and they just seem too good to be true? That's Ravi - for real! With a charming personality and a great sense of humor, Ravi ticks all the boxes. This dog is best described as a "total dude" and would love nothing more than to have a family of his own to follow around.
Ravi had a very rough beginning, coming in to care bruised and dumped, we thought it would take this boy a long time to come around to people again - but he surprised us all by coming out of his shell quite quickly, showing he really wants to trust, and thinks the best of everyone.
Ravi isn't a high energy heeler mix, at 4 and a half years old he's over that puppy energy. Don't get me wrong, he loves a good run, especially after those fun birds in the park who swoop around. And don't forget about balls, sticks, pretty much any inanimate object - this guy still gets in goofy moods where he will try to herd a brick. His favourite activity once he knows you is to flip onto his back, wiggle around and do his "grumblies," where he growls and grumbles to talk to you.
Let's be honest, even those of us who are perfect have flaws - for Ravi, he just is too much of a fan of our feathered friends. He would not do well on a farm with poultry unless they were quite secure. However, larger animals and hooved companions would likely be fine with supervision. As for cats - he likes to chase a little too much.
Though he does bark when excited or "herding" his objects, he isn't a compulsive barker. He is happy to sleep on the couch, on the floor next to the bed, or on the bed with permission - he has very good manners and mostly waits until invited. He is not a jumper or a digger, so would likely be fine with farm fencing or a suburban home. Though he gets excited on leash to see other dogs and does his grumblies, he is fine when meeting dogs as long as they do not try to dominate, and mostly greets and then loses interest.
Due to his poor history, Ravi can get quite nervous around any yelling - so a loud, rambunctious household is not the one for him. He has proven himself to be extremely tolerant of children, but for his own peace of mind would prefer if the children in the house were a little older to minimise screams and whacks from tiny hands. He is generally an absolute cuddlebug, happy to sleep on your feet and get head rubs.
This absolute star deserves a happy ending- are you the family he has been looking for?
