Truman is a spirited and lovable young pup looking for his forever home. If you're an experienced dog owner who's ready to provide a dog with love, guidance and adventure, then Truman might just be the perfect match for you!
Breed Experience Required: Truman needs someone who understands the Kelpie breed and energy levels. If you've had experience with active and high-energy dogs before, you'll be well-prepared!
Personality: Confident and outgoing are two words that describe Truman. He is full of energy and enthusiasm for life, and is always ready to embark on new adventures. However he is also very affectionate & playful.
Home: Whether your home is bustling with activity, quiet and serene, or a mix of both, he’s open to it all – he’s very versatile. And whether you work full-time or part-time, Truman can be adaptable to your schedule.
Indoors and Outdoors: Truman would love the freedom to explore both indoors and outdoors. A medium to large yard with high secure fencing would be perfect for him to stretch his legs and play safely.
Play: Daily exercise and walks are also a must! And while Truman hasn’t yet figured out what toys are just yet, he loves human interaction & cuddles.
Children: Truman is comfortable around children of any age.
Friends: Truman is eager to meet other dogs – he shows social & playful behaviour when he meets them. However, since he is a puppy, he'd thrive with a patient dog friend or another playful puppy who can match his energy levels. We always recommend that all dog meets are monitored & each dog’s boundaries are respected.
Learning and Growing: Truman knows “sit”, and he’s pretty good at it. He is also a quick learner, so post-adoption training would be ideal. Group classes or training at home could help Truman develop his obedience & manners. Treats are Truman’s weakness, and he takes them gently from your hand. Due to his love of treats, training should be a breeze!

Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
How much does it cost to adopt?
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
The adoption fee for cats covers F3 vaccination, health check, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
