About Emily
Are you looking for a best friend – someone that is happy to be in your personal space at all times? If the answer is yes – then look no further – Meet me - I’m Emily the Pug!
I am 7 years and 6 months old
My foster mum has said do not let my age fool you - it did her – I came into rescue care and I was all old and barely moving …………… 30 minutes later when my foster dad came home – woo boy I showed everyone how much life I had left in me!
My foster dad says I’m the sassiest, stubbornness, bossiest, most independent, want things my way, not willing to compromise (oh wait he says that under his breathe) sweetest, loveliest, quietest, nothings a problem, happy to go with the flow girl he has ever met – ha ha ha ha
I am sassy but you know I’m also older so I am kind of set in my ways like your grandma is – I can still tell the young ones off if they are misbehaving and then other times I will be the one encouraging them
I think that is why my foster mum laughs and says my nickname is Gremily or Grem.
My foster mum says that I love large with my humans and love to be glued to their side on the couch watching TV.
I am currently with some other small breed dogs and while I am very dog friendly I am also bossy and would probably do best as either an only dog or with one other small breed that isn’t as bossy as me – ideally I want a home where I can go from one human to another as I please.
I have learnt from another dog in care to bark at the chooks and the cat – so probably best not to have either of these at my new home – I like to bark at them telling them what they should be doing and stomp my little foot!
Now you have probably being reading and thinking I’m not a happy girl – I really am I just like things my way, I mean a certain way. I love to potter around thru the day doing my thing with having access inside and outside the house but especially access to the couch!
I am currently with kids ranging from 6 – 15, but my foster mum says cause I like to grumble if I’m picked up when I don’t want to it would be best in a home with kids over 10 years old.
My ideal home will be with someone who is home more often than not or who works from home.
I do sleep on the couch at night and the other dogs sleep in their crate but I’m very quiet. I would also happily sleep with you if you let me
I have a coat that does require brushing (yeah okay okay the rescue had to do a few de-shedding sessions on me when I first came into care – my foster mum also brushes my hair daily and I like to go all T-Rex on the brush and pretend to eat it – my foster mum tells me I’m special and continue to brush my hair – she says if she doesn’t I do leave hair glitter everywhere I go!
So if you’re looking for some serious laughs a bit of sass given to you and heaps of love - apply to adopt me, your life will never the be same again!

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
