My name is Celeste, and my siblings and I were rescued when my breeder booked us in to be put down at a local vet when nobody bought us. We were in good condition and cared for; things just got risky for us fast when it became difficult. Our breeder thought it would be easier to sell us all than it was, put a price of $800 on us with only one vaccination done & a microchip, and then decided to euthanise us at the vet when nobody would pay that. Thankfully, some kind hearted acquaintances put OTC in contact with the breeder and they agreed to surrender us, and OTC are also paying to desex my mum! My mum is a border collie and my dad is a blue cattle dog; my expected adult size is medium and approx 25-28kg.
Since coming into care I've been a dream to care for; my foster carer has worked hard on giving my a great start to life. I like to spend my days and nights playing, napping and eating alongside my furry foster sibling. I'm quickly learning the ropes and have been exposed to many new things since being in care such as baths, car rides, and basic training. In my forever home, I would love to get out for an adventure each week, to run sniff and roll and would love to go on daily walks/runs with you!
I would like to be behind a 5ft fence or higher so that as I grow, I am not tempted to escape the yard. Being a young dog, I am going to grow up however you allow me to- so it's important to spend your early weeks with me getting my routine and training down-pat. I am a smart pup who is a keen learner and will make you very happy! I would prefer to live with other dogs if possible. If you want me to be a single dog, I will need an experienced owner who won't bail at the first hiccup we go through together; change is hard for us all, especially a growing pup learning a whole new life! I want an owner/family I can really bond with and trust, and in return I will give a life time of loyalty, fun and affection.

Ps- curious about my name? Well, feel free to change it if you adopt me of course; most dogs learn new names fast- but for now I'm affectionately named Celeste, after a character from Gravity Falls (TV show). A very much loved and valued supporter of OTC sponsored our emergency rescue, and in turn got the honour of naming us after their favourite show. Thank you Ben and family for giving us a second chance!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home or in a public place. If you have other animals they should please be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC immediately and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area so OTC can cover any treatment needed. At the completion of your adoption trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract and relevant vet documents.
