**Special home needed** Shy yet charming pup seeks gentle and patient human adopter with a fellow canine companion 💙

Cody came into one of our regional shelters as a terrified stray. The poor fellow was completely shut down and struggled to cope. He was very fearful of humans. Cody was put under the care of our behaviour rehabilitation team, who were quickly able to establish the key to Cody's happiness, and his rehabilitation - other dogs!
Cody swiftly made many canine friends in the shelter, and in turn, his confidence began to slowly grow. He was also prescribed behaviour medication to help him cope better, and assist in his continued behaviour modification program.
Eventually Cody was able to be placed in a foster home, where he is already melting hearts! Cody's foster siblings include 3 other dogs of various ages, a rescue cat and a cockatiel!
While Cody is still very uncertain of human touch and gets startled by unfamiliar sights and sounds, he is loving life and is getting comfortable with his routine. Cody watches his canine foster siblings for cues as to how to act in certain situations, and gains so much confidence from them. Cody is quite happy in the yard with his foster siblings during the day (secure fencing required) where they nap together, play together, nap some more, sniff out any kibble they might have missed from Brekky, and just enjoy each others company. When the humans are home, Cody likes to come inside and hang out on the couch with his siblings and his foster mum sneaks in some gentle pats!

Cody is looking for an owner who; has had experience with dogs and is able to read body language. Who is patient and gentle with their interactions and won't push Cody past his comfort zone. Has an existing tolerant and social dog in the home. Is committed to continuing Cody's rehabilitation and behaviour medication as required. Is prepared for a project!
