About Harper
Hi my name is Harper, I am an Australian Bulldog and I am 1 year and 5 months old
I came into care about 2 months ago needing to learn some manners and training which the rescue has been working on.
I am currently hanging out with other dogs – they are fun company but my foster mum has to supervise me cause while I love other dogs, I am a bit of a bulldozer and forget my size and strength, and somedays I push the envelope with play time cause I just love to play so much!
My foster mum says I either need to go with another rough and tumble furkid or I may be better on my own with heaps of human physical interaction and play time. You will need to call an end to play cause I will keep playing no matter what- it’s just too much fun. Please also remember as I’m still really a pup at 1 year and 5 months old that this will change as I mature and get older.
My foster mum says I have no idea of personal space and will follow you around sticking my head in the way and just helping you! She says I am a boofhead but lovable and highly entertaining.
My foster mum says I am a big chunk of love and I have two speeds – either full on bulldog mode or calm quiet lazy arse bulldog mode.
I may be a bit much for some small age kids as I honestly just don’t realise my strength or that I should not knock them over when playing so I’m thinking maybe kids over 10
I do love to try and curl on your lap and I know my foster mum says I’m not a 2kg lap dog but I just think she’s wrong I so am a lap dog!!!
I am still learning the word no and apparently I score a 8 out of 10 with response – other days I don’t have my listening ears on and everything is just fun and games but I’m doing so much better than when I first came into care. My foster mum has said with consistent rules I am great but it’s still a work in progress cause you know I’m a bulldog!!
I would very much like a family who will include me in their life keep my brain busy as well as my physically busy! I am really good with praise and toys for a reward. My foster mum says if you try and train me with treats it is just a disaster – my only focus is then on the treat – remember I’m a bulldog!
I am toilet trained and I know I have amazing manners in the house – I am crate trained and the rescue said they would highly recommend that to be continued as it gives me a chance to stop.
I was tested with a cat (a good friend of my foster mum said she could) and I wasn’t really interested in fact she said I was a bit wary of those sharp nails that little furry thing!!!
I am currently on some medication for showing some signs of incontinence – the meds are Stilboestrol – it can happen once or twice a week but please don’t have that stop you from wanting to adopt me – it’s easily manageable and I promise the love I give you will make it so worthwhile!
I would also need to be able to have access inside 24/7 due to my breed and you know well we live in Queensland!

Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.

Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
