Meet the handsome and loyal Tofu. Tofu is a playful 9 week old, male, Border Collie X Cattle dog puppy. He is a sweet little pup who is looking for someone to play with and share lots of adventures.

Tofu is a very healthy little puppy who is full of beans and enjoys spending time with his three fur foster siblings. He has been well socialised with other adult dogs (small and large) and, although timid at times, gets along well with them all. He has met lots of people and is friendly, playful and affectionate with them.

Tofu is an active pup who is eager to learn. He is already learning the basics of toilet training. He has not had much experience walking on a lead, but it shouldn’t take him long to learn as he is a very smart boy. Tofu loves to play with his toys and sometimes even returns them for you to throw for him again.

Tofu is happy to sleep in his puppy pen overnight with a little reassurance and settling. As Tofu is only young, he needs to be welcome inside when people are home and to sleep inside at least until fully grown.

Tofu will grow up to be a medium dog. As Tofu is a working breed, his forever family will need to understand that he will need daily walks when he is big enough and lots of mental stimulation. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.

Tofu has discovered the resident cat and is quite curious but doesn’t seem phased by him. He does get a little excited and barks at him occasionally.

It would be a big plus if Tofu’s forever family have a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time.

He will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).

Tofu's siblings Tully, Tay Tay and Alex are also available for adoption.

Tofu's adoption fee is $700 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.

Tofu is in foster care in Heddon Greta, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
