Honey

Hi, I'm Honey and I am as sweet as my name!

I am a typical Kelpie, so I'd ideally need to go to a home with experience with working breeds. I show typical breed traits, and I'd love a home that can understand my needs and accommodate them, otherwise I will become destructive and bark and dig, particularly if there are other dogs as my neighbours. Keep me busy with obedience training, flyball and agility, it will help keep my busy brain stimulated. I love the tennis ball, but I can get quite fixated on it, so please give me alternate activities to occupy me. I have not had much foundational training before, so you can help me learn all the things I need to know to make me a super dog!!

Kelpies are not suited to suburban backyards, ideally you will have acreage where I can stretch my legs. It must have very secure fencing though! I may be ok with livestock, I have shown interest in them and would be suited to herding exercises.

I am a very timid and shy girl, I haven't had a lot of experience with the outside world, so I will need slow and quiet introductions to help me settle. I will take some time to feel comfortable with new people. I would like to live inside with you, but I will need house training as I'm not used to being in there. Small children are not the best fit for me, I can be very boisterous, and need adults or teens in a calm home. I have lived with another dog in my previous home, so I may be happy to have a calm, de-sexed companion, but obviously I need to meet them first!
