About Hector
Hector is an adorable 5-month-old pup, looking for his forever home!
Hector is a Jack Russell Terrier cross who is currently medium sized, but he will still have some growing to do. We do not know which other breed or breeds he is crossed with, so are unable to say how much larger he may grow.
Hector is very friendly and affectionate with people. He does tend to jump up though. Although he is a fast learner, it does take a few seconds of ignoring his jumping before he remembers he won't be greeted while he is jumping! For this reason, if there are children in his new home, they would need to be old enough not to be knocked over (8-10 or older)
Hector is also good with other dogs, and would benefit from having another dog in the home. Hector would love to play with another dog endlessly if he could! The other dog would need to be robust enough to handle Hector's enthusiasm for playing, and will likely need a little time out from Hector's desire to keep playing. Hector would also like to play with cats, but the cats don't always want to play with Hector, so he may not suit a home with cats.
Hector also loves to play with toys and join in on other games. He is a very fast learner and already has some basic training under his belt. He loves going for walks and being around his humans, and will make a great addition to the right family. Hector is also known for his quiet snoring when he is asleep - you'll love having him curled up next to you on the couch!
As Hector is very sociable and affectionate, he would also benefit from a home where he has some company during the day (at least one person who does not work full time/retired etc)
If you are interested in Hector, please submit an expression of interest by clicking the link below this ad. Your expression of interest should include the following:
The humans who live in your household, either full time or part time (eg children on access visits)
Any fur family members that you have, and brief information about them (age, breed, gender, brief comment on their nature (active, quiet, etc)
What training you would take Hector to, and for how long, and what training methods you will use at home
Information about your fencing- the height of your fences and the material it is made from
If you rent, if you have permission from your landlord to have a dog (including if he is allowed inside. If your expression of interest proceeds to application, we will need a written statement showing that you are allowed a dog, and that the dog will be allowed to be inside)
The brand of food you would feed Hector
Medical notes
Had some diarrhoea when he first came into care, this was attributed to possible changes in food by the vet. The diarrhoea quickly settled within a few days.
No other health issues have been noted.
Hector is desexed, microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations, flea and worming treatments.

You will need to complete an application form, which will be assessed along with any others that have come in at the same time. You can meet the pet before or after applying. In some cases more than one meeting may be required.
We may also conduct a home check to make sure that things like fencing are suitable for the pet, and provide advice on helping the new pet settle in.
If your application is approved, the pet can go to your home on a two week trial once the adoption fee is paid.
