BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to SAFE Esperance with his siblings at 5 weeks of age, he was then adopted but has been returned to SAFE Esperance just recently through no fault of his own.

BREED: Ridgeback X
Breed Traits: Rhodesian Ridgeback: smart but stubborn with a dignified aloofness to strangers, Mischievous and strong willed so would need an experienced owner. They are sensitive and do not do well when left alone for long periods. Affectionate and gentle with family and will defend their home if necessary. Their high prey drive precludes other animals unless raised together. If bored and lonely can be destructive or wander so strong, high fencing is needed. Not a dog for novice owners.

Brahma (Brah) is a giant, loving, goofball!
He's a big, sweet, loving boy who loves to curl up on his bed or at your feet, going for walks and playing chasey with his fellow foster dogs, he's toilet trained and has just learnt how to use a dog door, he sleeps inside on his bed besides his carer's bed at night.

So far he's learnt to sit and is learning other commands, he is a fast learner and is keen to please.

Brahmas ideal home would be with another dog friend for him to play with and an owner who's willing to put in the work and time to train him, he's a high energy boy who will need long daily walks to help burn off his endless puppy energy, he is a sociable inside dog who needs to have the option to be both outside or inside with his family. Brahma would prefer his owner to be around more often than not as he loves his human so he will struggle with a full time worker.

He is an absolute sweetheart who is extremely loyal to his people and will become your shadow, he loves and is used to living with dog savvy children 7 years and up, he is a large high energy puppy so children will need to be dog savvy.

MEDICAL: Brahma has slight hip dysplasia which does not require intervention and does not affect his quality of life. He will require joint supportive care going forward such as a diet specific to supporting joints and/or supplements. Please let us know if you require further information.

ESSENTIALS for Brahma:
** an active, loving home where someone is there more often than not
** a home where he is treated as part of the family and is allowed to be inside or out as he needs and to sleep inside at night
** a decent sized, well fenced garden where he can run, play, sniff and explore
** attendance at training classes into adulthood for him to learn and grow confidence
** daily walks/playtime to keep him happy and healthy
