Benji

Benji is a 9 month old Staghound x Wolfhound who is looking for a new home.

Only a young pup, Benji loves to learn new things and will do anything to please.
He is crate trained already and knows how to drop and stay. He is very food motivated so that will make continued training a breeze.
Benji also has one of the cutest wiggle butts you have ever seen when he is happy.

Benji sadly has had a horrid past prior to coming into care and because of this it takes a while to earn his trust, but when you do,you really see the beautiful side to Benji.
He seems to warm to women easier than men but once a man has earnt his trust he has a friend for life.
Benjis horrid past is mostly evident when he is outside of the family home.
He can be reactive on the lead towards other dogs but at the home he is great with dogs, and he is weary of stangers too but at home he is more forthcoming. We believe this is due to his lack of socialisaton and the fact that he originally came from a very rural and remote property before being dumped at the pound so city life is pretty scary for him but he is getting alot better and will continue to get better the more he realises the world isn't really that scary afterall.

Benji will thrive with a family who live a relatively quiet life without too many new people coming and going. Someone who wants a loyal and loving best friend who wants to be by their side no matter what they are doing.

Benji is only a baby so has great potential and with some gentle guidance, love, understanding and patience, he will grow to be a magnificent dog.

Benji gets along well with other dogs in the home and although untested with cats, he doesn't seem very bothered by them at all.

Due to Benjis current foster families upcoming travel plans, Benji needs a new home and although he is ready for adoption and a forever home is preferred, a foster home is also needed if adoption isn't found.

We understand a Benji is not the easiest dog needing a home right now but he will be the most rewarding and the most deserving if he is given the chance.
