Are you an experienced and compassionate dog owner looking to welcome a furry friend into your home? Seattle is a sweet and sensitive girl who is searching for her forever home with someone who understands her unique traits and can provide her with the love and care that she deserves!
At first, Seattle may be shy or timid with new people, but she warms up quickly, especially with the help of treats. She is a gentle soul with a sensitive temperament - a calm and quiet environment will help her thrive and make her feel at ease.
On the other hand, once she’s warmed up to you she becomes incredibly confident so if you're an active and outdoorsy individual or family, Seattle will also happily join you on all your adventures.
Seattle is open to meet kids aged 12 years and up purely based on her shy & timid nature. Older kids may understand her needs and be able to interact with her more appropriately.
Seattle would be best suited as the only dog in the household, she’s not too bad around other dogs, but we feel that until her confidence is raised being the only dog in the house will be beneficial for her. She has the ability to be social & we encourage all dog to dog interactions to be monitored & each dog’s boundaries respected.
Unfortunately we are unsure if Seattle will be compatible with cats or pocket pets.
Seattle would love access to both indoors and outdoors, so a home with a medium to large-sized yard with high secure fencing would be perfect for her safety and freedom to explore. She has high energy needs, making daily exercise and outdoor play a must.
She requires an owner committed to post-adoption training, which may include one-on-one professional training or behaviour modification to address her enthusiasm for aerial acrobatics when she gets overly excited. Additional leash training is also necessary, as she has not walked on a lead before.
Seattle is very food motivated, making treats an excellent tool for training, though she may need some help with manners when taking them. She enjoys toys but prefers engaging in personal play with her carers. She loves cuddles & being the centre of attention.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
