About Satchel
*In foster care in Lidcombe, Sydney*
Satchel (or 'Satchie') is a charming and sociable girl who'd love a furever home with a human who's often around - or another nice cat or two at the very least!
Confident and curious, she enjoys shadowing her foster humans from room to room, forcing her way under the blankets when they're in bed or onto their laps when they're sitting on the couch, and crawling all over their faces and shoulders when given the chance :) She's even been known to scold them when walk through the door after being out, because she's missed them so much!
There are few things Satchel likes more than attention, TLC and food, and being such a smart kitty she's developed an ingenious way of getting all three - standing up in a meerkat pose until everyone's watching, marvelling, and eventually worrying that something might be wrong! She's always fine, though - just a bit of a princess ;)
Like all Maggie's pets, Satchel is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will have heaps of room for me to run around and play - but indoors please, as I'm super-inquisitive and will likely run off if left outside unsupervised! I'm not easily spooked - vacuums, steam mops, and loud movie noises don't faze me one bit :)
Something you should know is that I have a very specific vendetta against small potted plants, and I also like to chew on pieces of litter or any objects on the floor - so my person will need to keep a close eye out for these things to make sure I stay safe.
If you have to work in the office, then I'd be content with a feline friend to keep me company at home. If I had to choose a love language, Physical Touch is definitely mine!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Though I'm very energetic and playful - running around for hours with the other cats in my foster home and chasing all the toys - I also enjoy lots of sweet downtime with my special humans.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: As an outgoing and playful girl, I think I'd have great fun with cat-loving kids of at least school age!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'm living with four other cats in my foster home right now, and though we spend lots of time cuddling and wrestling together I'm really good at respecting their boundaries!
I have hung out with dogs in the same room, but never showed too much of an interest in playing or interacting with them beyond a small sniff. I do get a little puffy when first meeting a new dog, but so long as they respect my space then it should be fine.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
