Alf

Whether you prefer his unkempt, shaggy look in the first photo or the clean-shaven look in the second, you have to agree that Alf is an adorable guy.
You would be hard pressed believing that this distinguished gentleman is 15 years old and he certainly doesn’t act his age.
Alf is an absolute love, and he gets along with everyone. He is a happy, social and loving boy and he deserves an amazing retirement home.
Unfortunately, Alf came into our care with terribly rotten teeth and sadly, they all needed to be removed but he is feeling so much better now that they are gone. In fact, the morning after having 26 teeth removed, he was lined up and waiting for his breakfast!!
As with most senior citizens, Alf has some health issues. Not only does he now have no teeth but his eyesight and hearing aren’t quite what they used to be. Don’t worry though, he can still see well and he is never late when he is called in for dinner!
Alf’s most significant health issue is a left sided heart murmur. At this stage, it is not causing any issues and he does not require any medication but that could change over time.
Alf still has so much love and companionship to give to someone and whoever gets him will be very lucky.
None of us know how much time we have, and Alf deserves a beautiful retirement home with someone who needs him as much as he needs them.
Alf is a Shoodle (Shih Tzu x Poodle) and therefore will require regular brushing and grooming. He came into our care very matted and uncomfortable, and we would hate that to ever happen to him again. Whoever adopts this beautiful boy will need to take that into account.
