Oscar is a big ball of fun and energy and he is looking for a home with lots of love and patience. He is looking for an indoor home, where his person/people are home most of the time, or can take him with them. He doesn’t like being left alone of outside for long periods of time. He loves to sleep on the couch and your bed, so would love a home where he is allowed to be part of (and on) the furniture. He currently sleeps on his 8yo foster carers bed, and has had no accidents indoors.
He loves kids and people so much but often forgets about personal space. He thinks he’s a lap dog! So can be a bit to much for smaller kids, as he is quite big.
He is currently in foster care with a 2yo male border collie and very easily runs rings around him, so when I say he is high energy, I mean it. He is very friendly with other dogs, but gets easily over excited and doesn’t appear to take social queues very well, ending in him getting growled at/put in his place by the other dogs. For this reason, we believe he would be best suited to a home on his own, without another dog or a home where constant supervision is available and a slow introduction, allowing the existing dog to ease into having a new house mate. He I had a very dominating personality and therefore would only be considered to a home with another dog after a meet and greet, to be sure they have compatible personalities.
Oscar may look like that super cute oodle you always wanted, but please remember that he is more than just his looks! He needs LOTS of time and dedication in his new home.
He walks ok a lead, but does get excited and pull from time to time. He can sit and lie down (when he wants to), but he definitely could use some further extensive training to become his best self! He has the potential to be an amazingly trained loyal companion.
Oscar is a poodle cross and will need regular grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep his coat from becoming too long and/or matted. This must be considered, as professional grooming can cost anywhere from $80-$150+ per groom.
If you think you may have the home he is looking for, please complete an application form. Please note due to expected high enquiries, we will only be contacting short listed applications.
He is desexed, microchipped and vaccinations up to date.
