About Ponyo
Ponyo is a gorgeous cuddly girl. When she sees you she'll run up for a pat. She loves being picked up for a cuddle and will climb on to your lap, or shoulder and go to sleep. She loves being on shoulders - she was probably a parrot in a previous life.
She's always looking to see what you're doing. She'll come and supervise to make sure you're cleaning out her litter properly, or cleaning up her food bowls etc. She wants to be part of the action.
She loves playing with her brothers and sisters, and will even play with the other resident big foster cats. She's not phased that they're 5 times her size.
She's fine with dogs too. The resident dogs at her foster home don't phase her.
Ponyo would be a beautiful addition to any family.
Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via shellys.place.rescue@gmail.com. Please tell us about the home you are able to offer including:
- number of adults living in the home
- number of children and their ages
- number and species of pets and their ages
- whether you rent or own your home and the property type (house, townhouse, unit)
- if you have approval to own pets in your home e.g. strata, rental agreement
- why you are looking to adopt
- will the animal be an inside pet, outside pet or both
- have you found a specific cat or kitten you would like to apply for.
Please remember to include contact information including a phone number.
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A Property check will take place via a video call (due to Covid restrictions). Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals for adoption will be rehomed desexed, first vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
