About Tonka
The little Staffy x who NEVER stops smiling is now seeking his forever family home
Tonka the little chonky English Staffy x with the killer smile is currently 16 kilos of loveable and affectionate smiling love
Based on his current size and age we are very confident he will be a smaller size to a smaller size med at full growth
Tonka is one of the happiest dogs you will ever meet, his tail has honestly not stopped wagging since he arrived at his foster family’s home!
This little fella is a ball of typical young English Staffy energy . all fun then … Kerplunk … Snore
He is a gentle sweet boy who enjoys time both inside and outside the house.
When outside he loves playing with his toys and running around the yard. He also loves playing with his staffy foster brother.
When inside Tonka loves a cuddle with his foster family. He is very affectionate.

Favorite things -
Tonka loves a cuddle with his foster family. He loves people and likes to be involved in what everyone is doing.
Tonka is very energetic and inquisitive. He loves playing with his toys and going for a walk.
If Tonka is not given enough stimulation, he will find his own fun as typical staffy teens will lol
Interaction with humans –
Tonka loves people. He is excited to see both children and adults. He currently lives with two adults and two children. He is still learning his manners and will jump when over-excited. He is easily redirected when this happens. We feel that based on this he is more suited to dog savvy school aged children
Obedience / Training-
Tonka strives for positive reinforcement and food rewards. His foster family has been teaching him to sit, drop and go to his bed. This is still a work in progress but he is improving each day.
Tonka would benefit in continuing his learning with formal training.
Animal Social Skills -
Tonka is currently living with his 2-year-old Staffy brother. He loves playing with him and snuggling at night.
Tonka gets very excited when he sees other dogs when out walking. This can result in him trying to jump on them. As he is exceptionally playful with other dogs and can be a bit of a cannonball until he calms himself in play so we would love him to have a dog friend if possible but not a deal breaker. We feel he would not be suited to small petite dogs and more of a playful robust built dog than say a smaller fluffy breed. If another dog in residence we are seeking a very well socialized female who can handle a good play but is not dominant
Food-
He loves his food and will eat both his and his foster brothers if given the opportunity.. He has not shown any food aggression towards others but we do feed separately to ensure all are safe to eat at their own pace
Independence -
Tonka will go outside during the day, however would much prefer to be inside if his foster family are home. He just loves being with people even if it is just sitting and watching his foster family work.
On a night he enjoys being inside with his foster family.
Bathing and Hygiene -
Tonka has been well behaved when having a bath, however did not enjoy being blow-dried. He has also been brushed regularly.
Sleeping -
Tonka is currently sleeping inside. He is taken to the toilet around 11pm and then sleeps through until around 6.30am. Tonka will wait at the backdoor when he is awake and ready to go to the toilet. He has not had any toileting accidents during the night.
Exercise -
Tonka is a very playful and energetic. Tonka loves going for a walk, although he does not appear to have spent much time on the lead prior to arriving with his foster family. He is improving on the lead with each walk. He will require a family who is willing to provide him with regular exercise.
Tonka will benefit from a good size yard to explore and play in. He will require stimulation during the day.
Inside the home -
Tonka has not had any toileting accidents in the home since arriving with his foster family.
He is still learning his indoor manners. He will jump on the furniture, especially if he wants to be with the kids. He still gets very excited, however can be easily redirected.
Food must be kept out of reach or Tonka will help himself. This includes food scraps in the bin. As he can be a bit of a “ Bin Chicken” lol
Ideal Home-
A good size yard with secure fencing, Shade and shelter
If another dog in residence we seek a well socialized robust female who is desexed and can mange a good rough house play
Tonka requires a home that is very inclusive and will let him be involved in what they are doing. Tonka would not do well being left outside all the time; he really does thrive on human interaction.
Tonka will require a family that will keep him active and stimulated
He needs a home with a good-sized yard to run around and explore. Shelter in the backyard is a must if Tonka is spending time outside.
Tonka loves children, however due to his jumping when excited he may be better suited to a family with older children or a family who are happy to provide him with further obedience training.
Tonka has NOT been tested with cats
