About Nash
Where are our border collie lovers at? This beautiful boy goes by the name of Nash and isn’t he just stunning!!
Nash unfortunately found himself in a rural pound, but this didn’t dampen his spirit! He was one of the staff favourites and enjoyed lots of pats and play time with the other dogs. His luck soon turned around when one of our foster carers stepped up to bring him into care, where he has become deeply loved by the family. It’s been a tough decision for them to let him go as he has slotted in like he’s always been there, but their dog likes a slightly more robust play buddy so it’s time for Nash to find his forever family.
Nash arrived a very skinny boy who was a little bit nervous of the hustle and bustle of Sydney life. With some guidance and love from his carers he has blossomed into a wonderful and easy going family dog. He is still underweight but will be under 20kg in good health. His new owners should have experience with slightly more nervous dogs so he can be supported during his transition into a new home. He can still get a bit startled by loud noises or very busy areas, so his new owners will need to continue to build his confidence but he’s coming along brilliantly!
If you’re looking for a loyal and super affectionate boy then Nash is your man. He is calm and has the most gentle, sweet nature you could ever find in a dog. He is extremely trusting of his handlers and loves nothing more than a good snuggle on the couch. His foster carers have been working very hard on his training and he is such an easy dog to have around the home. He sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep, he is toilet trained as long as he has outdoor access to a yard and is not a barker. He is brushing up on his basic obedience and knows how to sit, walk nicely on the leash and has good recall. He travels well in the car, but needs a little encouragement to get into the car. He has been taught place training and tie up training so is well on his way to being a perfect cafe pooch!
Before Nash entered to pound system he came from a property with many dogs living there. He is also in foster care with another dog and he just loves having a buddy around and getting that little bit of confidence from a doggy friend. For this reason we will be looking to rehome him to a home with another playful, confident and friendly dog - preferably a working breed type, to be his companion. He absolutely loves other dogs and plays nicely with dogs of all ages and sizes. On lead, he needs a little bit of work to not whimper if he sees a dog he wants to say hello to. Nash has been enjoying beach time, bush walks and play dates with other dogs. He has moderate exercise needs and as long as he gets a good outing every day and some mental stimulation at home he is one happy and content camper!
This boy is going to make the perfect addition to a family who love the intelligence of a border collie and are looking for a dog to enjoy outdoor life with. He loves playing tug or lying on the grass in the sun and can’t wait to become an integral member of someone’s family. We are looking for a dog experienced family preferably with working breed experience to give Nash the forever family he deserves. He will require a home with a yard and be able to have indoor access as he pleases. He will need to sleep inside and be provided a good quality diet.
He hasn’t been tested with children, but thanks to his gentle temperament we think he will be fine to live in a home with dog savvy children over the age of 12. Nash will need to be given plenty of fun adventures and opportunities for socialisation. He will need someone home more often than not, especially while he settles in and be made to feel part of the family.
If you’re interested in making this one in a million dog your next family member, then fill out an adoption enquiry form on our website and include plenty of detail about your current lifestyle, relevant dog experience and what sort of home you can offer our sweet as pie boy Nash.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
