About Teddy
Introducing the beautiful Teddy! Teddy is a German Shepherd born on 30th June 2022.
Teddy was surrendered to us as her owners were no longer able to care for her. Her surrender profile states she is house trained, travels well in the car, has no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety at home, she is friendly with children & adult strangers. She is very playful with cats, but they aren't always appreciative of her affection. She is good with other dogs but she can be quite vocal which can give off the wrong impression when meeting. It also states that she is very playful, funny, goofy, loves sleeping in bed with you and she can be a typical GSD who likes to cheekily backchat.
Teddy tested well with both male & female dogs. When the other dog was playful & boisterous, she was playful & boisterous and when she was with a calm & uninterested dog, she lost interest & calmly sniffed along next to them. We have noticed she is very vocal when first meeting new dogs. This settles once they meet face to face, but it can be off-putting to some dogs.
If you have a friendly dog at home we will need you to bring them in so we can ensure they get along before being adopted.
Teddy seemed scared of our (non-dog friendly) cat, but otherwise not interested. She also had no interest in Russell the rooster. If given a slow & controlled introduction, we believe she would be suitable to live with cats & pocket pets.
Teddy is a very sweet girl who loves to cuddle & play. We've found she is obsessed with tennis balls & will do almost anything to play with them. Because of this, she would be easy to continue her training, using the ball as a reward.
Teddy has shown no signs of separation anxiety when left alone, however she does have some general anxiety in the kennel environment. We believe this will settle once she's in her new home.
Teddy's adoption fee is $700 and includes her desexing, lifetime registration & current vaccination. Teddy is also regularly treated for flea and worms.

Teddy is located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
