About Bear
Introducing the handsome Bear! Bear is a Rottweiler born 31st August 2016.
Bear was surrendered to us through no fault of his own. Unfortunately his owners separated & fell into some tough times and are currently between homes. His surrender profile states he is house trained, obedience trained, has no food aggression or separation anxiety, is friendly with children & adult strangers, he gets along with cats & other dogs. It appears Bears only fault is he can pull quite hard on lead when walking.
Bear tested well with other dogs. He was very responsive to the handler & appeared quite playful with both male & female dogs.
If you have a friendly dog a home, we will need you to bring them in so we can ensure they get along before going home.
Bear was unfazed by cats, however he isn't suitable to live with pocket pets. We feel that if he is given a slow & controlled introduction to cats, he could happily live with them.
Bear has shown no signs of separation anxiety or food aggression towards humans since being at the facility.
Bear is a very sweet & affectionate boy. He just wants to be involved with everything you're doing. He seems eager to please & can't wait to find his new loving home.
Bear's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, lifetime registration & current vaccination. Bear is also regularly treated for flea and worms.

Bear is located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
