🙋‍♀️ Skye is a perfect blend of two intelligent and loyal breeds. We are looking for an adopter that has some breed experience and will be a strong leader that will meet Skye where she is at and commit to her ongoing obedience and training, allowing her to continue to flourish into the best version of herself.

🥰 Skye's affectionate nature knows no bounds, even if she can appear aloof to begin with, don't be fooled she craves human companionship and thrives on forming deep bonds with her loved ones. Skye is more than ready to shower her new family with all the love and loyalty she has to offer.

🐾 Being a mix of two working breeds, she requires mental and physical stimulation to keep her happy and fulfilled. Regular exercise and obedience training sessions are crucial for her development, as they will help channel her energy in a positive way. Skye is eager to learn and please, making her an ideal candidate for obedience training. With the right guidance and consistency, she will flourish into a well-behaved and obedient companion.

A few key points from Skye's foster mumma:
✅ Skye enjoys snuggling with her human companions on the bed or couch, and is happiest being your shadow in the house or while you garden.
✅ Walks on the lead well without tugging, happy to match your pace and loves a good sniff.
✅ Gets along well with all dogs after a proper introduction. Meeting dogs on walks is a work in progress.
✅ Very good with basic commands like ‘sit’, ‘on your bed’, ‘paw’, ‘drop’, ‘wait’ (for food)
✅ Travels fantastically in the car.
✅ Loves chewing, which has been successfully directed to her favourite toys.
✅ Will happily patrol your yard during the day (will alert you to the goings-on as a good Maremma should) but sleeps well inside at night.
✅ Loves her foster brother (2yr Bull Arab X), often preening him (he’s getting too used to it).
✅Some Collie herding instinct comes out during park play with other dogs (more interested in chasing others than a ball).
✅ Can be vocal when happy! Has a beautiful singing voice.
✅ Would benefit from a companion and/or daily walks or dog park time.
✅ A curious mind but very responsive to ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands.
✅ Doesn’t jump at people or up on the kitchen bench.
✅ Can be slow to warm up but responds well to treats and praise.
✅ Responds well to boundaries but will push if not enforced
✅ Can be wilful but wants to please

🐥 While under the care of Willow Tree Sanctuary, our dogs are desexed (at the right age) microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm tested (6 months+), treated monthly for parasites and have any other necessary vet treatment required.
