About Keanu - Located in Armadale
Hello there, fabulous human friend! I'm Keanu, the feline extraordinaire with a purr-sonality as charming as my whiskers are fluffy. Forget the internet's boyfriend; I'm here to steal your heart and make your lap the coziest spot in town.
So, rumor has it that I'm an A+ conversationalist. My foster mum can't get enough of my chirps and trills—I guess I'm like the Shakespeare of the cat world. And advice? Oh, I've got plenty. Just ask, and I'll meow you the secrets of the universe.
Now, let's talk playtime. I'm on a mission to conquer the elusive red dot, a feat that's eluded me so far, but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm a professional chaser of all things dangly and mouse-shaped. Want to win my heart? Wave a toy on a string or toss a mouse my way, and I'll be your forever fan.
Sure, I'm a bit shy at first, but give me some time, and I promise I'll warm up to you. My foster mum swears by it. Once I'm out of my shell, you'll discover I'm the sweetest, most purr-fect companion around. Seriously, my purr motor starts with just one pat. It's like magic.
Now, about my health journey—I had a bit of a rough start, but I'm a warrior, and I'm all better now. I just need a calm, stress-free home to continue my reign of feline fabulousness. No kids or canines, please. If you work from home, bonus points! Imagine a day filled with my charming presence.
In conclusion, if you have a lap, love belly scratches, and can appreciate the finer things in cat life, consider adding me, Keanu, to your family. Let's make every day a purr-fect adventure together!

Medical notes
Keanu has suffered from Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) in the past. In April, when he was four months old (after the trauma of being in the pound, coming to MNCR and then moving to foster care) he had a nasty episode in which he developed crystals in his bladder, and had to have treatment for several weeks. He is now ten months old and has not had any problems since recovering. Due to his young age, we don’t know how much of a problem this will be throughout his life. However, the likelihood of future flare ups can be mitigated with cheap and easy preventative measures, most importantly a calm, stress-free environment (no children, a regular routine, lots of love and attention). He also takes one anti-stress tablet daily, called Zylkene, which is easily mixed into his food. Keanu has not shown any sign of illness in the many months after recovery, and is a perfectly happy, healthy kitten.
WORLDWIDE CAT VACCINE SHORTAGE
There is currently a worldwide shortage of cat vaccines and supplies are unlikely to be replenished until early 2024. This is due to complicated supply problems post-COVID. Our vets have limited, and in some cases no supplies available, but are prioritising kittens and previously unvaccinated Cats wherever possible.
Kittens are at the highest risk as their level of protection is very low after the initial protection provided by the mother’s antibodies. While protection will wane a little over time, a delay up to three months is unlikely to result in a significant reduction in levels of protection. It is anticipated that clinics should have regular supplies early in the new year to bring your cat back up to date.
First Vaccination completed
We will try to provide at least 1 vaccination, depending on our supplies of vaccines available, however boosters may become overdue. In this case it is your responsibility to contact your vet as soon as supplies become available. We will not be re-imbursing any of this costs.
We require all cats and kittens to be indoors only and not allowed outside. This is especially important now as there is a risk of coming into contact with unknown cats who may not be vaccinated.
No Vaccination completed
Where we are unable to provide any vaccination during their time in care with us, please contact us on 0459779888 or via email to samantha@neko.org.au, and we will arrange for one vaccination to be done at one of our partnering clinics as soon as supplies are available. Boosters after this will be your responsibility.
Please note that should you choose to utilise your own clinic, we will not be re-imbursing any costs. This is your responsibility.
