About Mikey and Eva
Meet the sweet and lovable Duo little Mikey and Eva
They are brother and sister and extremely bonded so CANNOT be separated for any reason, both are gorgeous, with each weighing around 6 kilos and small bundles of fluffy cuteness with big brown eyes.
The gorgeous little Pomeraninans are simply dying to trust and are very close to that big breakthrough
At just 2 years they sadly have had a terrible life prior to coming into rescue some 5 months ago but have come a very long way with kindness, love and a calm gentle home while in foster care.
These babies have definitely been traumatized in a way many would not even want to imagine.
When these gorgeous kids arrived we were unable to get anywhere near them, They would just hide and not allow us to touch them.
Over the time in foster care, Mikey has been more accepting and has started to trust his humans more. Most of the time he will happily come over for a scratch or belly rub. He still appears a little cautious and frightened, which would require any person who wants to interact, to take their time and approach slowly.
Eva is much more scared/cautious of humans than her brother. She will usually sit back and watch the interaction and will typically run away if you try to approach her.
Both have found their safe spot, in their comfy bed inside. When either are in their bed, this is the best time to approach, getting down to their level and letting them know we are not going to harm them.
Eva has come a long way and will at times approach for a quick pat, although that does depend on whether the person is male/female or even the age. We have found Eva to be much more receptive to teenage girls.
Whilst they may be cautious / scared, they are not aggressive and we can tell that they just need time to accept their new surroundings, and new people that are there to love and care for them.
This will not be an instant bond, although there is a satisfying reward at the end of this journey as we can see that both are absolutely adorable and will eventually love to snuggle with their new family.
These little ones will take a lot of time to be completely comfortable with their new family and we are ONLY seeking a kind quiet and loving home, whom have lots of patience, that will continue their journey of rehabilitation to trust humans, they are such a sweet little pair and deserve a loving family who will care for them
As we said they are very much a bonded pair and do spend hours playing together and loving each others company

Favorite things
Mikey and Eva love playing together, they will run around the backyard chasing after each other until they are exhausted.
They love their food and get very excited when it's dinner time, they jump up and down with their tails wagging in anticipation.
Mikey loves running around in the backyard at night time, chasing the possums along the fencing - he can do this for hours. Eva just prefers to chill on the Sofa or in her kennel.
Interaction with Humans
Mikey is a little hesitant approaching people but warms up pretty quick with a calm slow approach and then will jump up on the chair beside you and roll over for a belly rub and kisses.
Eva has suffered from human mistreatment and doesn't have much trust at all though she has shown signs of improvement during her time with her foster carers. When she is sitting in her bed, she feels more comfortable and allows you to approach and will then let you rub her belly. The more you do this the more comfortable she feels and she will even give you kisses of approval.
When sitting on the indoor or outdoor couch Mikey will come and jump up next to you for a pat and cuddle once he knows you wont hurt him, Eva will generally sit back and just observe.
Both dogs are terrified of extremely fast movement of the hand and loud noises so we are seeking a home without young children.
Neither of the pups have been out for a walk yet on a lead and they are terrified of the lead and will freeze and not move once it is on.
This is going to be a slow burn with loads of patience and dedication from their new family to gain the confidence needed
Animal Social Skills
Mikey and Eva are extremely intimidated by other dogs so we will not be adopting them to a home with another dog
We do know they dont like cats so a cat free home is required
Bathing and Hygiene
Both kids can be bathed and although they don't love it they will allow a gentle wash in the sink
They get towel dried, as the hair dryer would be way to much at this stage
Food
They both are quite fussy. We have mixed prime 100 with boiled chicken, which they tend to enjoy. This will take time to get them used to eating dog food.
They are not motivated by treats, although they do enjoy chewing on the cows hooves outside during the day.
Independence
Mikey and Eva are very independent and will happily play outside all day with each other. They may bark from time to time at random noise, but are not generally very loud or frequent with the barking.
They enjoy being outside by themselves, just keeping each other company and entertaining each other while their family are working.
Sleeping
Mikey and Eva both sleep inside out of the cold, in a large doggy crate. Prior foster carers had them outside under the pergola in a kennel with their fluffy blanket. They don't seem to mind either, although they have been enjoying the warmth inside recently with our cold weather.
Exercise
Mikey and Eva have a med size yard to play in. This is ample for them to do zoomies and have fun.
Inside the home
During foster care, they typically come inside on the weekends during the day and spend each day inside after 3pm. They love just chilling inside on their bed and just relax whilst their foster owners go about their day.
Ideal Home
These two will likely be very distraught if they were separated. Whilst Mikey does appear to be more confident - being apart may be detrimental to his progress.
The backyard should have some covered area for them to shelter away from the elements during the day.
A home with a big enough secure yard for them to run and play on grass and do their zoomies
A home that has the time and commitment, knowing that this will take time and slow progress will be expected. The owners will need to have a lot a patience and understanding with the situation and understand that there will be a slow burn while they learn to trust and be comfortable in their new surroundings
No other pets
No children under 12
A home that are willing to ensure these kids are loved and safe for life
