Daffy - 3 Month Old Shar Pei X Staffy (Trial)

Available for adoption is Daffy, a 5 month old Shar Pei x Staffy puppy. (Approximate DOB 5 May 2023). Daffy currently weighs 15kg and he will grow into a medium sized dog.

Daffy has a lovely temperament. He is a shy, gentle boy. Daffy has had exposure to children and other dogs in foster care, so he is well socialised.

Daffy is crate trained and he sleeps quietly through the night in his crate in his foster home.

Daffy absolutely loves playing with other dogs. He is very friendly with all of the dogs he meets. We think he'd really love to be in a home with another doggy friend but would also be ok in a home as the only dog as long as he gets plenty of exercise and attention.

Daffy needs someone with time to dedicate to training and he will benefit from attending obedience classes.

Daffy has moderate energy levels and will need daily exercise in his new home.

**Medical needs**
Daffy has entropion on both of his eyes, which means his bottom eyelids roll inward. Vet advice is that Daffy will need surgery around his eyes when he's 9-12 months old. Daffy will need to attend a Dog Rescue Newcastle approved vet for the surgery and Dog Rescue Newcastle will cover the surgery cost.

Daffy is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW. Daffy's adoption fee is $700 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped. As Daffy will need surgery at 9-12 months old, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Sydney and Port Stephens because he will need to be returned to a DRN approved vet for surgery.
