Louie is an affectionate and playful giant puppy looking for a new forever family that can offer guidance and lots of cuddles!
He loves human company, following them around or just relaxing in their presence, but is also happy just to chill out by himself.
He has a new found love for toys, specially tennis balls. And will offer his forever family plenty of giggles while watching him play with them.
Louie is toilet trained and has learnt to use a dog door at his current house to let himself in and out while his foster carer is home.
He is happy to sleep outside in a nice warm kennel or is well behaved inside and sleeps on his bed in the lounge room or at the end of his carers bed.
Louie is still at a puppy behaviour stage and will require further training to get the most enjoyment out of his life with his new forever family. He is a quick learner and has picked things up relatively easily at his current home. Most recently Louie has been learning to walk on the lead, he is still pretty new to this and can pull and get distracted easily so will need a strong handler that is committed to working on this with some persistence, encouragement and redirection.
He travels well in the car, sometimes looking out the window or happy to curl up on the backseat.
Louise can be a mixture of chilled out and a playful pup. In his playful moods he does do a lot of mouthing, he is gentle in doing this but should be redirected with toys to play with instead. As he is a large dog it will be important to continue training and control some of the playful behaviours as he doesn’t realise his size. When he is not in such a playful mood he just curls up for a snooze, looks for cuddles or watches humans go about their day.
During the day while his carer is at work, Louie spends his days outside lounging in the sun or cozying up in his kennel. When there is someone home he is able to access the house through the dog door.
He has so far been friendly and excited to meet new people and dogs, he can get a little bit excited so will need some direction from humans and may be a bit much for some dogs.
Louie will need a forever family that has a strong handler/handlers that will be committed to further training so everyone can get the most enjoyment out of life together.
Due to his size and training needs, he may be best suited to older children that can understand and participate in training.
