About Mimi
POTENTIAL APPLICANTS MUST BE EXPERIENCED WITH THE BREED
BEST AS A SOLO DOG with her human home more than not….
Mimi came to us as a bit of an anxious dog, but despite that exterior has the sweetest personality and loves nothing more than to be with people and lavished with attention.
BEST AS AN ONLY DOG, even though she can interact well with other dogs, after being introduced.
She doesn’t mind cuddling up with her companions and playing with toys and balls.
She has been great with kids and has shown herself to be patient and gentle with the smallest of children.
She’s met the cat and is interested but wary.
She has learned to sit and wait for meals. As long as she has access, she will toilet outside.
She is still learning to walk well on a lead, she’s made some great progress but will need ongoing training.
She gets over excited, will bite the lead and think it’s a game of tug!
She prefers to be with her people and can become anxious and fearful on her own.
We are crate training her, but at this time she has not learned to have the crate as her happy and safe place, this will take time and patience.
At the moment she sleeps in a crate only at night, next to our bed and needs reassurance to be calm and go to sleep.
She is fine once she’s calmed and will happily stay in her crate until morning.
She is a talkative and expressive dog, telling us when her toys are under furniture and if she needs a cuddle… or if she thinks it’s dinner time!
She can be STUBBORN and will require TRAINING to overcome some ingrained habits such as mouthing and growling when things don’t go her way, so is not ideal for first time dog owners.
She would be best in a home with confident owners who will be dedicated to building her trust with boundaries and routine.
