About Benjamin Button
I am trying a new home to see if i like it. Benjamin button has the most wonderful temperament and his little tail never, ever stops wagging. We can't believe that benjamin button's owners left their little blind dog in the pound and its hard to imagine how terrible that must have been for benjamin having lots of dog noise all around and not being able to see what was going on. Benjamin button was an absolute favourite while in the pound and the kennel girls used to pick him up and give him special cuddles and all the time and his tail just wagged and wagged. Benjamin was so grateful for the attention and showed the staff by having his waggly tail going at 100 miles an hour! benjamin was not in good condition physically when we got him and his ears have been infected for a long, long time causing him considerable pain. His coat was also filthy, matted and full of sores from flea bites. Benjamin went straight from the pound to the kind vet who assessed him and gave us a plan to get benjamin on the road to good health again. He is now on a regime of antibiotics and ear drops but it's hard to get the drops into his little ears because they have almost closed over. There is a tiny hole there though and his foster carer is putting the drops in very carefully each day. Once the infection has cleared from his ear canals the vet will do surgery which is called an 'ear ablation' and that will open his ears up so he should be free from further infections. This surgery is costly but we feel that benjamin button deserves a chance to be pain free. Benjamin now finds his way around his foster carer's home without any problem at all and does not mind the company of the other dogs in care with him although he does prefer human attention. Benjamin has adapted to life with his foster carer very easily and being blind doesn't seem to be an issue at all. He just listens to find out where you are and then makes a beeline straight towards you!
update 3 march: the vet has checked benjamin button's ears and it appears the drops have done their magic and does not think his ears now require the surgery. Thank you to his sponsors as your kind donations have helped pay for benjamin buttons' ear medication and cleanser
