Barbie is a lovely and lively canine looking for her forever home. She’s a medium to large-sized girl with a sensitive and comfortable temperament, which means she can fit right in with any household. Whether you're a busy and loud family, an active and outdoorsy couple, or prefer a calm and quiet atmosphere, she’s ready to be your loyal and loving companion.
Barbie would love a home where she has the freedom to move indoors and outdoors as she pleases. A medium to large yard with high, secure fencing would be the perfect playground for her to run and play safely. Her high energy levels mean that she'll need plenty of exercise and daily walks to keep her happy and healthy.
She is looking for an owner who has experience with her breed or other dogs and has a good understanding of canine behaviour. Since she’s a little excitable on the leash and tends to do zoomies, she could benefit from some post-adoption training. One-on-one training sessions with a professional will help build her confidence and improve her leash manners. She already knows how to sit, but she is eager to learn more verbal commands to become the best-behaved dog around town!
She is open to meeting kids who are 10 years and older. She love all kinds of attention and cuddles, so she'll gladly welcome affection from everyone in the family. However, she is not suited to a home with cats and pocket pets.
Barbie is dog social/selective, and will usually display playful and friendly behaviour. However, it's essential to monitor all dog-to-dog interactions to ensure that both dogs' boundaries are respected and that everyone has a good time.
She’s an independent and agreeable girl, which means she can keep myself entertained but also enjoys spending quality time with her human family. Treats are a great way to her heart, and she takes them gently like a true lady. Toys also excite her, and sometimes she gets so enthusiastic about them that she’ll whip out another zoomie to show just how much fun she’s having.
When left alone, she’s perfectly content to chill out in her kennel. She is a well-mannered girl who knows how to behave when she has some quiet time to herself.
Adoption details
Please remember that the pets we have available sometimes come to us with no history, so we do our very best to get to know them while they are here and to match them to your home. Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
