About Sailor
Introducing the handsome Sailor! Sailor is a Staffy x Catahoula born on 1st May 2022.
Sailor was brought in to us by rangers as an unmicrochipped stray. He was so scared that he refused to walk on lead & had to be carried into the facility. Sailor would start to army crawl for a few steps, then just drop to the ground. He was incredibly sweet & only wanted love, so he quickly became a staff favourite. We were all very confused when no-one came looking for him.
Since being with us Sailor's confidence has grown & he has started showing staff his beautiful, playful nature. Some things do still scare him & he still needs training to be comfortable on lead. Because of this he will need a calm, patient owner who will continue his training & exposure with love and praise.
Sailor tested very well with dogs of all ages. He was very friendly with them, however he would occasionally get quite timid, but no aggression was seen.
If you have a friendly dog a home, we will need you to bring them in so we can ensure they get along before going home.
Sailor was scared of cats, but overall unfazed by them, however he did show some prey drive with Russell the rooster. Because of this we are recommending a home with no pocket pets & preferably no cats.
Sailor has shown no signs of separation anxiety or food aggression since being at the facility.
Sailor's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, lifetime registration & current vaccination. Sailor is also regularly treated for flea and worms.
To enquire more or to meet Sailor, please call 0499 900 272 or email ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com and speak to one of our friendly staff.
Sailor is located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
