About Archie 35330
-Deaf Dog Experience Owner
-Best As Only Dog
-Open to Meet Kids (All Ages)
-Approx. 21kg
Edison is a special kind of dog – he is deaf and in search of his forever home. He may be deaf, but that doesn't hold him back one bit!
He is looking for an experienced owner who understands the unique needs of deaf dogs and can provide the loving guidance that he needs.
He is quite adaptable and can fit into various household types. Whether you have a busy and lively home, a calm and serene environment, or an active outdoor lifestyle, he is ready to join the fun! He is also open to meeting kids of all ages and would love to be a part of a family that includes him.
He would benefit from a home that allows him free access to both indoors and outdoors. A medium to large yard with high secure fencing would be ideal for Edison to explore and play safely. Edison is best suited as the only dog in the household, because he needs to focus on his handler's hand commands, the presence of another dog tends to distract him. Unfortunately he would not do well with cats or pocket pets, as he might not understand how to interact with them.
He has a confident and outgoing personality that shines through despite his deafness. He is full of energy and would love to have an active family that enjoys daily exercise and walks. He is still learning to walk on a lead, but with some patience and deaf dog-specific training, he'll be a pro in no time!
Edison is a smart boy who responds well to deaf dog-specific training commands. Since he can't hear verbal cues, he relies on hand signals and gestures to understand what you want from him. He is food motivated, and training with treats is a great way to keep him engaged and eager to learn.
He is a well-mannered pooch and knows how to sit with a simple hand movement. He may be energetic, but he’s also very affectionate! Edison absolutely adores cuddles, pats, and belly rubs.
Edison loves all kinds of toys, and he’s always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. Keeping him mentally and physically stimulated with playtime will make him one happy pup!
