About Pretzel
Pretzel is a world of affection in one tiny package. When she arrived with us she was skinny and timid but her cheeky personality didnât take long to shine through. A playful little girl with a love of everyone (once she gets used to them) whether they be human, canine or feline.
Intelligent and affectionate, we have no doubt she will grow into an amazing companion for the right person or family.
Pretzel loves any and all toys. She especially loves teddies, and to her delight has recently discovered that some of them squeak when bounced on. She loves to curl up in her bed and will collect items and toys, gradually bringing them to her bed until it is too full for her to fit. She has also taken a particular liking to one of the resident cats in her foster home, and the feeling is mutual.
Mummy â Sharas is Micro Chipped as a Coonhound x and is knee height and Brioche is at a guess probably going to be around Mums height so lets say med to large
Shara has an incredible gentle soft temperament so if Pretzel is like her Mum she will make an incredible addition to any family

INTERACTION WITH HUMANS:
A sweet and gentle tiny puppy, Pretzel loves to give and receive affection from anyone and is gentle with the children she has met so far. Sheâs not a nippy puppy. She has been very nervous when meeting strangers so far and needs time to come out of her shell. However, a little while later she will gladly accept all of the cuddles and tummy rubs available.
OBEDIENCE/TRAINING:
Pretzel seems to be a bright, intelligent and eager to learn. Learning to sit is most definitely a work in progress, but this is mostly due to the number of distractions in her current environment which is filled with cats and other dogs. She will use the puppy pads for toileting inside and will âhold onâ overnight as best she can.
ANIMAL SOCIAL SKILLS:
It would be hard to find an animal Pretzel didnât want to be friends with. She likes other dogs, and will try to play with those a bit closer to her small size. She especially loves one of the resident cats she is currently living with. She loves to cuddle up with any of the other animals whenever they are willing.
FOOD:
Currently eating Premium puppy food and is fed with her sibling and has shown zero food aggression. Very excited also by anything new such as chicken or a liver treat.
INDEPENDENCE:
Given the choice, Pretzel would always prefer to be with you. However, she is content to play in her puppy pen with as many toys as possible, explore the backyard or hoard leaves and twigs in her bed outside. She will occasionally check if thereâs anyone available to let her back in but if not, will continue about her play. She has rarely been completely alone so far though, usually having her sibling or another resident dog with her.
SLEEPING:
Pretzel has been sleeping in a crate overnight with her sibling. They will gladly take themselves in there at bedtime and have a play before settling down for the night. They rarely make a peep for at least 8-10 hours, sometimes using the puppy pads in their crate during the night if needed while holding the messy business for the morning.
EXERCISE:
Due to her age, she has not been on walks yet but has bursts of activity during the day, punctuated with naps. She will need lots of toys to keep her occupied.
INSIDE THE HOME:
Pretzel LOVES being inside with everyone whenever possible. She is mostly quiet and has so far not tried to eat or chew anything that is not a dog toy. She will require further toilet training to master this skill. She will curl up in a dog bed on the floor but is also perfectly happy to be lifted onto the couch for a snuggle.
Adoption Criteria
A home with a medium to large backyard with grass, shelter, and secure fencing.
A home with or without children, they must be dog savvy children who can handle puppy behavior.
A home with or without another dog.If another dog is in residence already we seek a Male of medium to large size who is well socialized and tolerant of puppy behavior.
A daily walk. Short walks while he is a puppy and her bones are developing. A moderate-long walk when is older and has more energy to burn.
A lot of love and training! Pretzel should be welcomed as part of the family and not just left on her own in the backyard all the time. Her owner should dedicate time to training and take hr to puppy classes
She is young enough to learn if you have a dog savvy cat
We recommend children in the home to have prior dog / puppy exposure before your family applies for a young pups puppies
She will require proper puppy training. She is such a joy. As she grows and explores, she will need continuous training with commitment and patience and understanding from her new family. With that, she is going to be one fantastic addition to the family!
IDEAL HOME:
Pretzel would be fine in a home either with or without another dog and she would enjoy a dog-friendly cat as well. She would also be good with children who are able to be gentle and patient with her.
She will need lots of love and affection and would benefit from as much inside and human time as possible. A home where she isnât âjust a dogâ, but part of the family where she can feel loved and safe.
