About Nikita
The only word I can say about Nikita (Nikki) is âMuffinâ. This adorable little girl has so much love to give. She is energetic and playful and is a clever little girl.
Nikita is a sweet little Heeler x we think possibly Foxie weighing only 10 kilos
Based on her current size we feel she will be a med size at full growth
Niki is a sweet and gentle girl who thrives on human affection and gentle interaction
Favorite things:
Nikita loves to play with her stuffed toys, chew toys and balls.
Her most favorite thing to do is have a cuddle after a long day of playing, she loves to hog the couch too.
Interaction with humans:
As with most dogs Nikita will take a second to suss someone new out, once she has you figured out, its full steam ahead. However she gets scared around young kids, she doesn't like loud noises and will go find a safe place to hide.
For this reason our sweet girl will not be adopted to a home with young children
Obedience / Training:
Nikita will sit for treats and is starting to shake. She is slowly learning to walk on leash, she prefers a harness to walk with instead of a collar. Each day she walks a little further.
When traveling in a car she likes to just lay down and chill
Animal Social Skills:
Nikita is living with her larger foster sister and does very well playing with her.
When playing together her sister can be a bit rough but Nikita is submissive, she is a very playful and friendly pup She would do really well in a home with another dog who loves to play but is gentle
Independence:
Nikita is happy to play by herself inside and outside. Being a puppy when left alone she can be a little destructive. When leaving her alone I give her a Kong with lots of doggy treats in them, that keeps her busy. As long as she has somewhere enclosed and warm where she can nap and something to distract her, Nikita is fine to stay alone for a few hours.
Bathing and Hygiene:
Nikita is frightened of the bath and the hair dryer. I am sure in time when she has an understanding that it wonât hurt her, she will be fine to bathe. Just takes time.
Sleeping:
Nikita is sleeping indoors in her crate. She sleeps well through the night. She also has an open crate outside that she sleeps in when she is outside.
Exercise:
Nikita is still learning how to walk on a leash, so she has little daily walks.
She does love to have a good run around the yard and play soccer. (watch out Renaldo)
Inside the home:
Nikita is a very active puppy, she loves to zoom around the house and she loves to cuddle up on the couch. She is still being toilet trained but is doing very well. Would not recommend that she be left alone in the house alone just yet as she is still a young puppy who might get up to mischief
Ideal Home:
Nikita would do extremely well with a home that has another friendly dog, and we would seek a male dog that is as playful as she is and a good cuddle buddy. A medium to large size yard. Kids would be ok but not younger than 5yrs old. A family that understands puppy behavior.
Most importantly her ideal home would be a home that gives a lot of love because she is a super squishy, loving little girl.
This sweet and very gentle little girl will make an amazing family addition as she has a lovely temperament and in a loving gentle family will grow into a wonderful girl
