Jake - 9 Month Old Mastiff X (Trial)

***MEET JAKE*** Jake will be attending an adoption event at Newcastle Foreshore on Sunday, 26th November...Come say Hi!

Jake is a big handsome boy (25kg) and friendly with everyone. He has grown up with other dogs, has been well socialised and is very low shedding with his short red coat. He is toilet trained, sleeps inside on his blanky all night through, is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed.

Jake plays with some toys, but is just as happy chewing on a stick or tennis ball. He loves to be near his family and would prefer to be an indoor/outdoor dog, so he can follow his person around as much as possible. Unlike most pups his age, he does not chew shoes or furniture, but will steal an occasional sock to hide in his basket to have his person’s smell close by when he sleeps 😊

While Jake has been to dog school a couple of times, walking on lead and staying in position will need more training. Jake gets attached quickly to a new carer or dog buddy and has great recall when off lead. On our farm (at Mt Vincent) he is great around livestock and doesn’t bother the horses or alpacas.

Jake will make his new forever family a loyal and affectionate dog, who loves to be part of their adventures and snuggle up with them in the evening.

Jake is in foster care in Mount Vincent, NSW They are currently available for interstate adoption. The adoption fee is $500.00 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.

PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provides individual listings with specific requirements for each foster dog. If you submit an application or inquiry and DO NOT receive a response within 5 business days, please understand that you have not met the specific requirements for this dog. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time.

This organisation's adoption policy is moderate. What does this mean?
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
(2) If the questionnaire is approved we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) After that we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home, nearby park or your home.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
