About Marcel
If you're looking for a canine pal to involve in your social life, then Marcel is your man! He loves to visit cafes and lap up all the attention. If there are people and food around, Marcel is there! He's the same when you take him to the dog park. He absolutely loves it but spends most of his time ignoring the dogs and instead seeking out pats from all their owners!
Marcel currently lives in an apartment. He enjoys this but might love having a bit of backyard as he isn't a fan of going for walks around the block. He can be a little theatrical, and sometimes he'll even 'go on strike' mid-walk. Marcel mostly likes being your bicycle passenger or going in the car to places where he doesn't have to exercise too much. He does enjoy trips to the beach or the park but would choose to play fetch in a garden over a neigh-bore-hood walk any day.
Marcel is used to having full-time company. His current owner works from home, and Marcel would love his new owner to have a similar lifestyle. This little boy might be small and heading towards his senior years, but he can get into mischief if left alone for too long. He's not the type of doggo to bark while you're absent, but he does have the occasional accident and might chew on things he shouldn't.
The companionship of a compatible dog would likely help to fill Marcel's social cup and keep him relaxed at home when you're out. When it comes to other dogs, Marcel can be a bit selective about who he likes. He has some great doggy friends but prefers calm, sensible dogs. Boisterous pups who are space invaders bring out Marcel's grumpy side. Rainy weather also brings out Marcel's grumps side. He hates the rain and is very much a drama queen about it!
One of Marcel's favourite activities is watching TV with his fav people. He really loves cuddles, and giving him a spot next to you on the couch is a surefire way to win Marcel's heart! Treats are another favourite for Marcel. He is very food motivated and can sit, stay and high-five. He can also wait to eat his food until you say 'bon appétit'. Cuuuuuute!
Marcel's current owners simply adore him and are very reluctantly rehoming him. They are relocating overseas and had planned to take Marcel with them. However, taking into account all of Marcel's likes and dislikes and the scale of their move, they've concluded that Marcel will be happier with a loving family in Australia rather than heading to a colder, rainier climate on the other side of the world.
Marcel is 13kg of personality, cheek, fun and naps. He is guaranteed to make you laugh every day, and he is an incredibly loving and affectionate dog. So if you've got a Marcel-sized hole in your heart, and have some great sunny spots for him to take his naps, then you could be just the person Marcel is hoping to meet!

Marcel is as fit as a fiddle!
When he was younger he had nares surgery to enable him to breathe better and live more comfortably.
He can experience allergies, and he will start to lick at his feet if he has a flare-up. To manage this, he has been getting a twice-yearly injection from his vet and does best using a hypoallergenic shampoo and eating a predictable diet.

When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
