About Heidi
Heidi is an eight month old German Shepherd who found herself in an animal holding facility. She is now in foster care where she is receiving the love and attention that she craves.
Heidi is social with other dogs and people and is good walking on lead. She has not been tested with cats and may not be suitable to live with young children due to her energy levels.
Heidi has shown that she is quick to learn new skills but will need ongoing training to adjust to her new life. We think that she has not lived inside before, so you can imagine that she has had a lot to adjust to.
Heidi has a lot of energy so is looking for a home with an energetic person or couple, with dog savvy older children, who have recently had a German Shepherd and understand the time, commitment and on going training she will requirement.
Heidi loves cuddles and would be best suited to a home where she will be an integral family member.
If you have recently owned a German Shepherd or large breed dog, and understand German Shepherd and think you have the energy to give me a new home, then please select the "Enquire about Heidi".
If you live in Queensland or Victoria, you can be considered, however you will need to be able to drive with your family to meet Heidi. If for any reason she doesn't fit your family you will be responsible for bringing her back to Sydney or helping us to rehome from your home.
Medical notes
Heidi is microchipped, vaccinated and desexed when she is 12 months of age.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
