About Tank
Tank is a 14 yo foxy cross. Friendly desexed and a little overweight
He is in his second home and is now being surrendered as his owner has now lost her sight and unable to care for him.
Tank is a delightful, charming, little old man with lovely manners. A chubby 14 year-old foxy cross. He loves going for a walk and has recently he has been able to lose some weight (2kgs over 2 months) whilst in foster care with careful diet and increased exercise. His mobility has improved with injections for arthritis and he thrives on regular short walks a day. 15minutes at a time is good for him and his energy levels.
Tank is a very popular chap wherever he goes because he is so friendly and welcoming of everyone, human or dog. He is used to living with other animals including cats and likes being part of the group. He can be left alone without suffering anxiety but he does enjoy company so would be better with people working from home or part time.
An elderly boy, Tank suffers from leaky incontinence. He will go to the toilet when outside but does suffer from urine incontinence. We have sought vet advice and medication has not helped this condition, so it needs to be managed with patience and kindness. Tank is able to live in an apartment provided there is a good outside area where he can toilet if needed. But he would probably be better off in a house with easily washed floors and an outside area where he can spend time when the weather suits. He might also benefit from wearing belly bands/wraps to catch the drips when inside as he currently does.
Tank is great around children putting up with hugs and will not react if you put your hand in his food bowl ( Though this is never recommended with any dog)
Tank is such a good dog and needs a home with a caring family who will manage his health issues – keeping up his injections to manage the arthritis and being patient with his leaky incontinence. But these efforts will be well rewarded by the joy you get from this very good old boy. He deserves a loving home in his final years.
Adoption details
Animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and on heartworm prevention / and also FIV tested for cats where possible. They are not available for adoption outside NSW (except ACT). Please email par.adoptions@gmail.com if you would like further information.
Dogs and cats are rehomed on two weeks trial to ensure that both the person adopting them and the rescuer are satisfied that the dog / cat / animal is happy and adapting well to their new home and this can be extended on request
Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
Please always provide a contact phone number as a part of your enquiry.
