Diesel is a charming and affectionate dog eagerly searching for his forever home. He is an older gentleman, and comes with a comfortable and agreeable temperament that's perfect for any household.
Though he may need a breed-experienced owner, he is well-suited for a variety of families. Due to his breed, an experienced owner who understands his needs and characteristics would be the best fit.
Whether you lead an active, outdoorsy lifestyle, prefer a calm and quiet environment, or have a busy and lively household, Diesel can adapt and thrive in any setting. He is open to meeting kids aged 10-12 years and older. He is friendly and approachable, making it easy for him to bond with his new family.
Having both indoor and outdoor access will ensure that Diesel feels at home and comfortable in his new environment. A medium to large yard or even acreage/farm with high secure fencing would be perfect for him.
Despite his breed, he doesn’t have high energy needs, so he'll happily adapt to your lifestyle. While he’s not overly energetic, he does show some interest in tennis balls and may enjoy some light playtime with them but he truly loves personal play with his human friends. He’s a true sweetheart when it comes to affection. He adores head and neck scratches and will nudge you gently for more attention, showing you just how much he appreciates your love and care.
As always it is encouraged that Diesel receive post-adoption training such as training at home or 1 on 1 as it would be good for his mental stimulation. He enjoys treats (although he can be a little picky with them) his food motivation would make ongoing training a rewarding experience. Diesel would benefit from daily exercise and walks as well.
While he is wonderful with people, he may not be as compatible with small pets or cats.

Sometimes animals behave differently outside of the shelter environment, so please do keep in touch after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
How much does it cost to adopt?
The adoption fee for dogs covers C3 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
The adoption fee for cats covers F3 vaccination, health check, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
