About Oscar
Oscar is a 4 yo male Weimaraner. He is a much loved dog but unfortunately due to the owners current situation they have made the decision to surrender Oscar so he may find new owners who can fulfil his full potential.
Oscar is smart, he has had puppy training. He goes to the toilet where instructed, he won't sit on the couch unless instructed to . He is so loving and loves affection, and likes to lean into you.
He is great with other dogs and at the park will play, if there is a aggressive dog he is submissive and will lay down. He seems interested in chasing cats on the street but has not really had the opportunity.
Oscar needs an active home, he loves to go for a swim and may or may not return the ball to you if you throw it. He pulls a little on lead but off lead he sticks to your side like Velcro. He has good recall.
Whilst he is social with children he is a big dog, close to 40kg and he has a big bark which can scare children if they are not used to a dog having an excited bark.
Oscar is perfectly toilet trained, and will let you know if he needs to go out. Oscar would enjoy the company of another dog and a house over an apartment because of his size.
Adoption details
Animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and on heartworm prevention / and also FIV tested for cats where possible. They are not available for adoption outside NSW (except ACT). Please email par.adoptions@gmail.com if you would like further information.
Dogs and cats are rehomed on two weeks trial to ensure that both the person adopting them and the rescuer are satisfied that the dog / cat / animal is happy and adapting well to their new home and this can be extended on request
Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
Please always provide a contact phone number as a part of your enquiry.
