About Chia
There is only one word for Chia and that is STUNNING!
This beautiful pup has such a striking look to her. Her pointer markings on her large body just catch people’s eyes wherever she goes. Her velvety soft floppy ears are irresistible, and you can stroke them all day. To match her looks is her beautiful temperament. Chia has a wonderfully soft and gentle nature both with people and other dogs. She is shy at first as she was not exposed to a lot in her early life, but once she sees that everything is ok, she warms up quickly. Chia is a massive snuggler. She would love to be curled up with you on the couch or lying beside your feet during your down time. If you are up and around, she will follow you around with interest to see if there is anything she can do for you to be called a good girl. She truly is just the sweetest girl.
Chia will need a home with another friendly and happy dog who can show her the ropes in new situations. As with people, she is shy initially meeting new dogs but again quickly learns that they are new friends to play with. She loves hanging out with the dogs in her foster home. Chia runs around the yard with them with her giant floppy feet. She will join in playtime with the other dogs and cuddle up to them at rest times. In new situations, she looks to her people and the other dogs to know how to react appropriately; however, she is growing in confidence by the day.
Chia is a big girl. We know her mum was a pure bred German Short-haired Pointer and dad was some kind of gun dog mix but obviously brought size into the equation as she is in the vicinity of 15-20kg already. Fully grown she will be a large to extra large dog and will be over 40kg. Chia enjoys a daily frolic off lead in her foster home, always sticking close to her pack. She will also have a bit of a play with the others but then she is more than happy to chill out on her bed in the house. In her new home, she will need some daily exercise and playtime to keep her happy and healthy throughout her life.
We are looking for a home who has experience with previously training dogs. Chia will need further guidance while learning to walk on lead – currently she is doing a short sniffy walk to practise. She is still learning to keep all 4 feet on the floor and progressing well with her toilet training when she has access to outside. Chia is food motivated and willing to please so she will thrive with further training in her new home. She has learned how to sit on command, will take herself to her bed to rest in the home and travels well in the car.
We are looking for a dog experienced home for Chia where she will be a part of the family and further developed to reach her full potential. She will need a home with another dog (or multiple!) and would love it if her owners are around more often than not as well. Chia should be allowed to be inside with the family and will need a warm comfy bed inside to sleep on at night. She is young enough to be integrated with other types of pets with the appropriate guidance and she will be fine to live with children as long as they can respect that she is a bit skittish and will sometimes need space. Chia will not be suited to really busy environments so will need a quieter suburban home or would do great on acreage. Chia is such a sweetheart and will thrive in the right home, allowing her to develop into the most wonderful companion.
If you would like to make this beautiful girl a part of your family, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form as the first step. Please include plenty of detail about your prior dog experience, current household members including the furry types and the lifestyle you can offer Chia.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
