About Scorcher
Please meet SCORCHER, a highly affectionate and well-mannered Kelpie/Cattle Dog pup born on 20 May 2023.
Scorcher lives happily in a private foster home with several adult dogs and two cats. He plays well with the big dogs - and loves to steal their bones! And for some strange reason, they let him.
He’s gentle and respectful with the cats and has been rewarded with their affection. They actually come over and smooch with him. What's more, he seems to have picked up on the uncanny feline ability to comfortably snooze in all sorts of 'interesting' positions, when the mood takes him!
Scorcher loves his human family, including his foster parents’ 2 yo granddaughter. In fact, he gets on with all people.
He is a clever boy and very eager to please. He has mastered sit and drop. He knows the word "bedtime" and trots off with the big dogs to his bunk. His recall is good for a pup and is getting better every day. He’s quite good at walking on a lead and is 98% of the way to being house-trained. And he's learnt to swim - that's what happens when you fall in a dam!
Scorcher's foster mum has this to say about him:
"He's a very cuddly boy. He loves a lap cuddle, but is happy to just sit beside you on the couch - if you let him. He's a tactile pup and frequently puts his head on my feet if I'm sitting down. He's not jumpy or bitey - and we just love him. He's great with the horses and seems to know innately how to please."
Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and there is another compatible dog for Scorcher to play with. Secure fencing and plenty of space to romp and play are essential.
If you are interested in meeting this lovely pup and can offer him a suitable, safe and loving forever home, PLEASE COMPLETE THE ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
Scorcher is part way through his course of vaccinations and is microchipped. He is also flea and worm-treated. His adoption fee includes desexing when age appropriate.
