About Gretel
Gretel is a fawn pure bred French bulldog. She is the sister to Hansel also listed. She is just a baby. Gretel was surrendered as she has a major heart condition. She has had a diagnosis made by the cardiologist but we are not progressing to surgery. We have fund raised but were unable to get even close to the sum required.
She will never be far from you and would make an excellent companion for the time she has. The cardiologist has given her months to years. Like all of us life is a box of chocolates, you are never sure what you will get so enjoy each one♥️
She is great with:
People- children and elderly
Cats
Dogs
She is very well socialised and has been learning to sit and stay.
She’s a cuddly lover.

She has severe pulmonic stenosis -a heart condition.
She has been evaluated by the cardiac specialist and we can send the report to your vet. She can have surgery but the surgery is expensive and we could not fundraise enough to have it completed. Her heart is also a poor candidate for this procedure so even if we had the money we would not take her to surgery. She is currently on a medication atenolol to help her heart- it is not expensive.
She had no issues during her desexing surgery so that is a positive. She has no clinical signs of heart disease.
She is a brachycephalic breed. All suffer from BOAS in some way, either minor or severe. They are always at risk of boas ( brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome)becoming clinical- creating difficulty breathing. We expect you to have a complete understanding of the condition and discuss the potential surgical, environmental and medical modifications you may have to do for this condition with your vet before you apply for this dog. It is also a excellent idea to take advantage of the trial period to have your vet check over the dog and give you more pointers on this breed related issue and the expectations for their care and management.
